They can do. I've been on the receiving end of men being like that - or rather, I thought it at the time, now I know they were complete arseholes! I think the Treat Them Mean, Keep 'Em Keen rules (TEMKEK as we like to call it) can go too far sometimes. I find that if someone isn't showing enough interest in me, I find it impossible to stay interested in them so it can backfire.
The signs could be taking ages to answer your text messages, not being available when you ask to meet up with them (although a non-bi tch would suggest another date), not answering the phone when you ring them to make you wonder where they are and generally behaving in quite a detached way.
It's up to you if you want to bother with people like this - personally I can't be arsed with it - if you like someone, you should let them know without being a stalker or overly keen and suffocating!

They certainly do play these games, my web based friend.
My last relationship lasted approx 5 months and after it finshed I looked back and realised that that's excactly what happened to me.
Don't think it's just bad girls who do it, one's who don't know what they want or just like feeling power over men do it too, but they'll snap out of that eventually, but not until after moving on to a new bloke and being treated badly by them.
Just my opinion, hope it helps - in fact I wish someone had said the same thing to me six months ago.

Hell yes!
I had an argument with my bf bout this last week- I argued that if I kept myself away from him and gave him no attention he would crave it more. He argued that he would simply learn to live without me, and so it would have the opposite affect.
Anyhow, I tried it - I avoided him, his calls and msgs for 3 days over the weekend (we normally see each other every day). Except to the bare minimum.
Well, last night was our reunion - and he was pretty damn keen on me......... let's just say i won the argument ;) lol!
anyway, yeah some girls are mean about it, but its not always a nasty thing.

I don't do this, but I can only speak for myself.
Personally if the girl is treating you badly, it means she does not love you or she does not take the relationship seriously.
Either way, be firm with her. Tell her she she has to treat you better or you will find someone else to do so, and mean it. If her behaviour does not change, you know she's not worth your time.
Hope this helped.

definitely
big sign: there's always the same time delay between any email/text/call
because theyre sitting there, finger hovering over the 'send' button, waiting till its been 15 mins or something before they reply to you so they dont look keen (come on we've all done it)
or they always leave it longer to reply than you last did

sure they do - not the nice girls though!!
Playing these kinda games sucks regardless of whether its the man or woman thats doing it!
Signs - being unavailable - talking about lots of other different guys - cancelling dates at short notice - not replying to texts or calls.

Sometimes we treat them mean hoping they will take the hint and leave us alone - but they rarely do.
