Yup!!! The oldies have a lot to learn from youngsters. Our downfall teaches them a lesson - 'Never offer to much of liberty to youngsters'.

These oldies actually have nothing to offer but their experience. And as we always do, ignore their suggerstions, choose our way out, hurt oursleves, make a few wrong decisions untill finally we realize that they were right.

Then at later stages of adulthood, we start advicing. Haven't you ever heard people starting with advices like, "my father/mother/grandpa/granny/etc... used to say...."

All the technology that we are developing into would have never started off unless oldies wouldn't have contributed. We just start at the point where they leave. That doen't mean that we are the ones responsible for whole of it. An oldie may need to learn about IT, Satellites, etc. from an youngster (preferably a knoledgeable one, off course ver few teenagers are a part of this set), but the basic calculation over fingers was the initial stage where we started from.

If teenies would have dominated the world, the whole world would have fallen prey to an experimental R&D. It's only due to guidance of the oldies that we could make valuable contributions. We are step ahead when it comes to technology, and a lot behind when it comes to temperment and experience.

I suggest both of them should be tolerant towards each other. And teenies are the one who are lacking the virtue.

Oldies don't see the world through the eye of a teenager, they analyse the world keeping into mind a teenagers point of view. At some point of times, oldies feel that they themselves have gone through those phases. According to their own experiences, they make sugestions. It's upto teenagers, to understand what they mean, and comply.

You talk about old guys applying false theories, what about teenies emphasizing on fantasies. They just don't want to grow up.

All the best...

:-)

hello dear one,
its true that the old people often use old theories of thier times .but you know that the world is changing day by day.people use the knowledge obtained by their experiences and as the oldies have faced the old world therefore they know almost none about the new advanced and futuristic world .so i think that both the oldies as well as the teenagers must co-operate with each other.nowdays teens are very impatient and hyper(found in most cases)which means they get angry and irritated too soon{especially on the old people) so they must stop getting angry and the oldies should not speak when they do not know anything about the matter .its not like only one should co-operate ,both of them should co-operate.

The Poet Kahlil Gibran said it better than anyone:
( From The Prophet -- Chapter on Children )
****
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
***
Still true today...
