Some thing happened to my PC that made the OS unistall itself. i've lost my service pack CD and i'm not about to buy another one.

If your copy of XP is licensed, you can get a free SP2 CD from Microsoft. You can contact Customer Service by phone Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. to 10 P.M. (Eastern Time), at (888) 218-5617.

Do a google / yahoo search for: windows xp service pack 2

Choose the first link you see to Microsoft's website to get the free download (260+MB). I hope you have high speed.

Service Pack 2 is included when you get the automatic updates from microsoft. otherwise download and verify it from www.microsoft.com
