Right. Most flights arrive with the view of the city to the right.
You should double-check with your airline. Ask or check their web site and look for the route maps. You can usually tell just by looking at the map.

It depends what kind of view you want. 80% of the time, Hawaii's trade winds causes landings from West to East. You'll get a closer view on the left side of the plane as it follows the coast line to the airport. Keep an eye out for the Arizona Memorial just as you are about to land.
However, a common approach will fly you between Oahu and Molokai passing the islands and turning right to head West before turning around for landing. You often get a more distant view of Honolulu and Waikiki, but while landing, you'll see only the ocean.
20% of the time, the winds reverse. Great close up views of the island will be available on the right side.
Where do I choose to sit? I'd choose a seat on the left.

Actually either side is good. The plane will fly between Maui and Oahu. Depending on the wind if you sit on the right side you might see Kani Bay on the way inn and possibly Diamond head and maybe even Waikiki. The problem is that you won't know what it was until later. The plane will continue south and west of the city and do a 180 turn back towards the airport. From that point you want to be on the left. You will see the pinaple fields, Pearl Harbor Honolulu, Punch bowl. The problem again is that you won't know what it was.

Right side.
Most flights I have been on come into Oahu over Waimanalo/ Makapuu and proceed back out over water after flying over Kapiolani Park with most the island visible from the right side. The planes continues out away from Oahu with a view from the right looking back before it banks back towards the airport. If landing at 4R/4L the plane banks back toward the island and you get a good view of downtown. If landing at 8L, the plane banks about 180 degrees right ,and as another poster says you end up with water and then some coast line.
I'd take right

I sat on the right side of the plane and was greeted by a rainbow arching over Diamond Head as we approached Oahu. That is a memory that will stay with me forever.

Sit on the right on the way there (left when you return) as you are sitting in the plane facing forward toward the pilot. (There is , however nothing between Cali and Hawaii but water)...POSH don't work for Hawaii..

the interior? Sorry, i could no longer face up to. it somewhat is not elementary to assert, because of the fact the winning wind will possibly be certain your strategies-set. you need to attempt asking the airline, or, as quickly as on board, examine with the flight attendants. they may be able to inform you. solid success!
