I agree, as long as they are not all snobbish about it.

I have always tried to date and be in relationships with men who are at least at my level of intellect, and really find it wonderful if they are even more intelligent than me. I want to learn something new each day. I have been with a person in the past that was not my my equal (in intelligence) it was awful. I hate having to hold someones hand and do everything for them. It felt good for awhile to have them look up to me for everything they needed to know and didn't. That grew thin quickly, I want a man who has a mind of his own and can make intelligent choices and actions on his own. So yes I find it a turn on.

Yes, I am turned on by a person's intelligence. However, I think it is a complete turn off when someone knows they are intelligent and purposely tries to one up you all the time. The intelligent person that I like is one that knows the right time to say something and the right time to keep their mouth shut.

I agree. Intelligence is extremely attractive, but only when the person has a friendly personality.
Some people who know that they are intelligent sometimes act as though they are looking down on others for not being as smart. That is not attractive at all.

I am such a sucker for intelligence that a man can be butt- as# ugly and I'll still think he's hot. Granted he can't be an as#hole. A person of intellect coupled with a good measure humility is the ultimate turn on.

Intelligence is always a good thing. Just as long as it does not come with a cocky or egotistic attitude. You know those people who are smart and know it and make sure you know it too. That can really get under my skin. I like people who can spell well, I don't know why. Maybe it is growing up with a father who asks you how to spell your own name after he is the one who named you.

Intelligence is very important as long as it is not used to make others feel inferior. Being friendly and respectful need to go hand in hand with intelligence for me - nothing worse than someone going on and on about their achievements or knowledge when all they are being is boring or condescending.

Absolutely - the first thing that really attracted me to my partner was his intelligence, wittiness, and depth of knowledge. We both share this, and after many years together, we still have many subjects on which we can converse.
I wonder if that explains why some marriages break up? They are so dim, they run out of things to say to each other...

My boyfriend said so. I'm not beautiful and I don't have a gorgeous body. He kept on telling me that what made him fall for me is my wit and personality.
I find the same way, too. He becomes more attractive because I know he's a smart guy.

Not a turn on but I'd rather be speaking to a clever girl than a dumb one who has to have the simplest things explained to her.
A turn on is more of a chemical thing I think.
