I think it changes with time.....as a middle aged woman now....it is just another day really....but for children it is very important and in our family we always make sure it is special, choice of cake and ice cream, what dinner they want....you name it, as they become teens, its fun, and as parents we try to make it still important but as they age it becomes less of a party atmosphere.

Its not a big issue if someone in the family has his birthday.

I dont think a it's big deal, when its my b-day I dont mind if no one remembers, to me it's just another day and a nother lived year, im not like some people who expct grate things like it some kinda holiday or something! ..ha! .i dont even know why people invented such exagerated customs about birthdays...
