How can you control a minor obsessive compulsive order (Ex; constantly worrying, constantly thinking about food, ect) that isn't life threatening, but more stressful, and do it without medication?

You know something? I always say everything, in moderation, are extremely healthy. I myself have what I suspect to be OCD, but at a rather mild degree- like I can't stand seeing dishes in the sink unwashed, there should be no stains on the carpet, what should I cook tomorrow, etc etc... At the same time, I am aware that I have this disorder.

I suppose it is good, since it makes sure my house is extremely tidy, myself extremely well taken care off, and me not having to face the prospect of running hungry any time soon.

I find it helps to discuss it over with a friend. You'd be surprised at how much help it is. Like I have this friend, with whom I discuss everything. And he doesn't even think of it as a disorder- he feels it's me being incessantly tidy and level-headed.

You're right- minor OCD does not require medication. And I think the medication might cause more harm than benefit at this point.

If you need help, a lending ear or just a friend to chat to, I'd be honoured to play that role.

when you start to do that.. think about what your doing and about what your thinking is just thoughts and sillyness..

and try and work around it.. talk yourself out of it in your head :)
