how does static pressure of an incompressible fluid change in an axial flow compressor..?

why are we putting a incompressible fluid in a compressor?
a compressor as the name suggests compresses.

If the fluid is incompressible, it must be liquid. Don't put it near an axial flow compressor. The blading of the rotor and stator will not survive.
