I got this puppy almost three weeks ago, and she had a runny nose and cough. I went to the vet, she gave her some antibiotics (just in case, she said) after done with the antibiotiocs, I took her back because her cough is worst, still runny nose, she sounds like she is very congested, her congestion gets really bad late at night.
My puppy was prescribed antibiotics again, with no answer of what it is. I am really concerned because we are flying to MIA in a week from today for my wedding and I don't want anything wrong to happen to her while in the plane or due the humid weather of Florida.
Please someone help me, it is 5 am and I can't sleep, I just want her to be ok. Any feedback?

Don't worry when you are ill you need time until this goes away.
Take her to your bed, make her feel comfy.
2morrow, go to the doctors.
She will be ok.
You really love it don't you?????
Good one.
I hope all the best.

what I would do is try a different vet
explain what your case is as you have in your question above
if the vet doesn't give you much to go on demand further tests
it may be a number of things causing the problem but I'm no vet to explain all this could range from a virus to simple irratations
like a little grass seed that has managed to work it's way into puppys sinus as did happen with one of my pups
but these are possibilities
Kenel Cough: Kennel cough causes bouts of high pitched, honk-like coughing that keeps both you and
your pet awake at night for up to 2 weeks. Onset of this bacterial disease occurs abruptly
after contact with infected dogs. Dr. Brinson says that some owners also note vomiting in
their dogs, but usually their pets are just expelling a large amount of phlegm. Pretty gross,
huh?
"During an infection, dogs generally keep up their normal activity level and don't feel too
sick," says Dr. Brinson. There is no cure for kennel cough except time. Thus, prevention is
the best way to contend with this disease. "However, kennel cough is self-limiting and will
generally clear up in a couple of weeks even without any medication."
Owners should be aware of possible secondary infections, which may lead to pneumonia. If
pneumonia sets in, antibiotics may be necessary to help clear the infection. At this stage,
getting phlegm out of the dogs system is key for recovery, which is why cough suppressant
medication is not appropriate. Intense coughing can be painful for your pet, so limit activity;
the more Fido moves around, the more he will cough. and is contageous to other dogs who come around

Sometimes puppies do seem to cause pharyngeal inflammation by chewing on
stuff. This does result in a soft cough in some patients. At least that is

Take you puppy to another vet and get a second opinion. Then do not take the puppy on a plane ride! this will add extra stress to your puppy. I would leave the puppy with someone close.
Why did you get a puppy before your wedding? This is the most stressful time in your life?
A puppy needs to have a stable and consistant environment to be house trained and have a good foundation. You are asking too much from this poor little pooch!
Let's hope it dosn't end up in the aspca because somebody can't care for the poor thing properly!

Sounds as if it could be kennel cough which can take weeks to turn around. In my experience, antibiotics are the only course of treatment.
I would suggest consulting with another Veterinarian though, just like people - a second opinion is always recommended.

Get back to the vets and demand an answer to what's wrong with your pup. If you have to take the pup to a different vet!
Good luck and try not to worry, I'm sure the little lass will be ok. All the best for your wedding as well :)

She might have Parvo. OR Kennel cough. I am not sure tho. Try taking her to a different Vet and tell them what is going on. Tell them that the other vet you visited would not tell you what is wrong and that they gave your dog some antibiotics, but she is getting worse. They might be able to help her. It helps to get a second opinion from a different vet.

I would take it to another vet. If you've been to the other one twice and are not yet informed or happy with the results then why would you go and pay a third time. Go somewhere else and have the records transferred to a vet that will explain things to you.

I agree with Joanne go back to the Vet and demand them to tell you what is wrong with your puppy.
If your puppy has kennel cough and it does not get cured right away serious health issues in the future could occur. Your pups growth could get stunted.
Stay calm though, don't let puppy sense your anxiety.

Ask your vet (or another) to do an xray. What may have just been an upper respiratory infection could have developed into pneumonia. You are definitely right to be concerned and demand some answers.
