yes you are suffering from depression. Please see a doctor and NO they are not scary ! They will support you and try to help you ! It's better to see a psychologist because they will know exactly what you're talking about and how to help you. They won't judge you, you can tell them anything in confidentiality. You have obviously gone through horrific things in your life which are similar to me - relating to watching my dad beat up my family members. I used to have depression 2 years ago. Thinking of your brother cannot go away it's going to be there in your thoughts for a long time. It can't be erased instantly, it's such a traumatic thing to go through. You aren't the only one, try to find others in your situation. AND if you don't want to talk to a doc, please talk to TRUSTED FRIEND ! dont let it stay inside you ..

It sounds as if you are depressed - and not without reason. Depression is very common and doctors are used to dealing with it. I think you do need professional help and should go see a doctor and take his or her advice - if that means taking pills then take them. You may also need counselling to help you deal with some of the problems you described. Talking to someone who is a professional person not related to you allows you to say exactly how you are feeling and to unburden yourself of some of your problems. Just talking can help. I have suffered two bouts of real depression in my life and was prescribed pills over a period of months. I have also undergone counselling with a psychotherapist. Both the pills and the counselling helped. There was no instant cure but after a while things began to improve and I no longer needed the pills to feel good. The cure can be a very slow process but the depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain and it is unlikely you can fix it yourself. Go get the help you need. Good luck and God Bless you. The only way is up!!!!

Honey, You really do need to get some help for your depression. You have many things to be sad about but the thing about hurting yourself is what concerns me the most. Nobody wants to go to the doctor for this but you should go as soon as possible and then you will be thinking more clearly and can make better decisions on how to handle your other problems. Good Luck

Paintball, you do have a severe case of depression and its not surprising considering all the things you have had to bear. Thoughts of harming or killing yourself are not good for anyone, but it sounds like you are blaming yourself. Hun its not your fault. None of it. I am sorry that you have gone thru these things but there is help. And there is no shame in getting that help. The doctors are not scary or judgemental. They really want to help and they can give you a prescription that will help you. If you can't afford it, go to your local mental health office or check with one of the local churches. They will have the info you need.Get some help. Its there for you. You have a long and wonderful life ahead of you. Live it free from these troubles. With love from Pappy

Wow, you've been through all that! I think when people suffer a lot in life, they can get used to it, so when more bad things happen they just take it, and soldier on.
After a time I think it can get harder and harder to "bounce back" all on your own.
Who looks after you? Tells you everything will be allright? Helps you out?
You need more than a good bf I think.
Is there a phone or online counselling service you can use?
Don't give up!! Don't give up!!!
Do get some more help though, I think it is really important!

Please see a doctor as soon as possible. There are many forms of depression from mild to severe.
Stressful situations in life can trigger depression. See a therapist for talk therapy and a doctor for medication that will help you get through this difficult period.
Life has many ups and downs. So if you are feeling depressed, the best course is seeking treatment.
Good luck to you.

the best thing you can do is do some sport or exercise so you can get fit and work through it and don't give up or dwell on it. keep positive and try not to think about the negative too much.the best way to deal with negative energy at night is write a journal of all your feelings its theraputic and its beneficail to you if you let it all out on a piece of paper. you will feel so much better. don't give up i wish you well on your journey. good luck

You could be depressed... but instead of thinking about killing yourself, think about how much i would hurt your family..if you were to kill yourself which you shouldnt, think about the best things in life and how much it would kill your family to even think about suicidal. i thought about it once and when i stopped thinking about it, it made me fell better.I lost my best friend not to metion my dog.he got hit by a car in October and when you stop thinking about it and how he's in a better place, you feel like you've never lost something. you may think about him often, but thats natural. try to think of the best things in life and your future with your boyfriend.WE live to wonder why...
Andd honey you need to go see a doctor or pshychiatrist and trust me ive been to both and they are NOT scary. not one bit.Trust z_koerthelin... he knows what he's talking about. let it all out by buying a journal or talking to a trusted friend. wish you the best and good luck!!!
