Well, before we can start talking about the soul we should both understand what soul really is. I have really no idea what the soul is. How it is working,how it is made, etc....

Genesis 2:7..and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to BE a living soul.

1 Thess 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The above Scripture reveals to us that we are made up of spirit, soul and body. If we walk by our self efforts (ie in our flesh or by the works of the law) our soul has us. If we walk in the Spirit (under grace and truth) our spirit has us. For if you are in the flesh you are not in the Spirit (Rom 8:9).

Gen 2:7 And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

I am a body, with a heart, mind, soul and spirit.
The body is what you see.
The heart is the core of a our being.
The mind is the seat of our reasoning.
The soul is the seat of our emotions.
The spirit is our life.
When I die, it is the spirit that will leave the body and go to heaven to be with the Lord.

when you are still living and breathing. you are the living soul but when you will die . the spirit which was in you will leave your body which will return to dust and your spirit will go somewhere else to wait for the final judgment whether you will be resurrected to go to heaven with God for eternal life or to hell and live with Satan to suffer the penalty of your wrong doings while living.
