I have the latest Windows Media Player...but It won't let me compress my videos small enough to upload online...not and it still look right anyhow. When I compress it, it squeezes the picture to the top half of the frame and the bottom half is green! (I hope I'm making sense)

Anyways, I've tried every setting, nothing works.

The only setting that doesn't turn the bottom half green makes the file too large to upload.

Sorry if this sounds confusing!!! Just let me know of some good programs out there! I'd be greatful for any info! Thanks!

The easiest way to accomplish this is to just use Vista's built-in "Windows Movie Maker". Once you've finished making your video, select the "email/web" option to save the file as, this way the program automatically compresses the file to a size reasonable enough to upload to the internet. You can even elect to upload to directly to a website that you have specified without saving the file first.
