I am 13 years old and starting around the end of last year i havent been able to get to sleep and when i finally get to sleep i have bad nightmares. i ofen get the feeling that im falling then suddenly i wake up.i thought maybe the reason i couldnt get to sleep was that maybe i was scared to sleep because i knew that i would have nightmares? i dont know why this has started and i was wondering if any had any suggestion?

First talk to your parents. There are somethings you shouldn't do near you bedtime like eat, drink caffine, watch TV and so on. You want to be in a restful, relaxed state of mind.
Next talk to your doctor. There are medications they can give you to help you sleep.
Lastly you might want to consider talking to a shrink. They can help you understand what your dreams are trying to tell you. Usually it's something your unconciencess mind has been working on.
PS Don't wait too long, not getting enough sleep can effect all sorts of things from your general health to your moods.

Are you going through a lot of pressure? Sometimes nightmares can happen because of stress pressure. If it is the case, best if you could relax more.

There's some drugs to help you sleep. But those drugs can have a little side effect. Instead of taking sleeping pills, if you are unable to sleep until very late, take a Panadol Night. It should be enough to put you to sleep.

Try these natural remedies too.

- Try slowly sipping chamomile tea before bed. Chamomile teas are known to help relax.

- Read books or some comics or something that takes your mind of things

I feel you. Totally. I suffered from the same thing and did alot reading on stuff through out the yrs. now i'm 30 and still have those prblms. I slept w my grama till i was like 13 cuz i was scared to go to sleep, i use to make her watch me untill i fell to sleep, now i learned that those scary dreams we have are mostly caused from being very tired and falling into a deep sleep to fast, it sounds funny at 30 yrs old but it helps me to watch something funny like cartoons b4 i go to sleep.

hello soz to hear your feeling like this i get that too just as your gettin to sleep you jump up coz ur falling best thing to do is let ur mum an dad know an maybe your doctor can help its usually if uve got some type of anxiety or worry? hope it improves hun x
