Unfortunately more and more people are saying that Israel's actions are looking like the Nazis actions...Here is a Holocaust survivor who is saying the same thing, unfortunately about the settlers in Hebron:http://faithandpolicy.org/blog/?p=440
Anyway there are Israelis who agree with that. Here is what a reader says:
"Fact is that even if we are not sending Palestinians to gas chambers, the mental frameset for it is there. The nazism also started with merely wanting to remove us from Germany and stamping red Js in German Jews' passports--exactly what is being done today in the territories. "

Consider the source!
The bishops are only pointing out what anyone can plainly see.
The situation in Israel is attrocious, with widespread violations of human rights on both sides, and no end in sight.
The article you cite is terribly biased against the Palestinians and the Catholics, as it's written by those who attempt to justify the actions of the Israeli government, which remains largely apostate, atheistic, and anti-Christian.
What most people fail to understand here, is due to institutionalized anti-Christian discrimination inside Israel, the bishops have virtually no Catholics to represent there, except for about 10% of the Palestinian population, and those poor souls are viciously persecuted by both Muslims and Jews, alike.
Much of the recent Israeli violence and destruction in Lebanon was also directed against Christians.
It's about time somebody spoke up for justice.

As a German I am ashamed of these bishops, it is a totally inadequate comparision. This was in the German news as well and these bishops have apologized for what they said after they were criticized from several sides. Most of the inhabitants of the Warsaw ghetto were murdered, there is nothing in Ramallah that comes close to this in any way, or have you heard of inhabitants of Ramallah who are deported to death camps?
And ? and MaxNHL are right, except for the last paragraph, I do not think that it is "the world" or all the Catholics who share such views.

Nazis and Zionists share this rule: " No body should live on this land but us, and we are the superior". That's what the Nazis did and that's what Israel is doing here in Palestine. The difference is that Israel doesn't use gas chambers, or rather Israel didn't use them till now!!
In general, they share the same ideology. Anyone who stands for the truth would tell the same. I think that the Bishops said what they saw. Here, in the West bank, Israel is really working on forcing us to leave our lands using every available way. Everything which is non-Jewish is going to be wiped out, and that's happening now and happened in Palestine long time ago. Digging under the Mosque in order to tear it down is currently happening. In the West bank, The Muslim Mufti of Jerusalem and Patriarch Atallah of the Orthodox churhc has formed an association called ( The Arab Muslim Christian association) in order to resist Israel's projects and aims to make everything "Hebrew" in Palestine and wipe out every Arab thing.

I think the concept is practically the same. Its just on a smaller scale and hence goes unnoticed. The same thing is happening in many countries accross the world but noone takes note because the scale is smaller. you would think people would learn from past experience especially the jews cos it was done to them but sadly not. The same kind of land grabs and ethnic segregation, extermination and oppression happens accross africa but no one takes note cos most of the countries are dirt poor. the west only started helping in the ww2 fight when they were threatened by the war both economically and in terms of security.

People should understand that not only do the rest of the world think that Isreal is immoral, but actually various Isreali politicians believe that Isreal and the location of they're country cannot be justified - and they fight any conflict - not on a moral level - but on one of making the opposition seem a hell of a lot more immoral than they are.

Wow!!! It never amazes me that in the 21st Century anti-Semitism still as strong today as it was in the 20th-1st Centuries ACE. Please, let us not delude the waters by stating that the comments posted are merely anti-Israeli and aimed solely against Israel’s policy in regard to the Palestinian people. When the truth is evident from the Israeli bashers arguments that in reality they are aimed clearly against the Jews. This is nothing new blaming the Jews for all the world’s problems and I find it hilarious. But let us not kid ourselves the Catholic Bishops accuse Israel for the crimes that are similar to those that are committed by the Nazis, when in fact they don’t even reflect a synch of what the Nazis have done to the Jews or what the Catholics even done to the Jews. Below I will address some of the arguments that have been posted against Israel for it seems that only one person was willing to do it so far.
Let me just point out, if Israel was indeed a Nazi state as many people seem to allude to it by, then there would be no such thing as a Palestinian problem, now would it? Do you see any Palestinians being led naked into a gas chamber, being buried alive, being raped on the streets, having their property confiscated so that some fat Jew can eat his lucrative meal, having twins separated and experimented on, being made to work slave labor while those who don’t work hard are shot to death, children being rounded up and their blood drained out of them, being put in the trains in high heat and let them die from heat strokes or from dehydration. How dare you compare those to the Nazi act? I have lost relatives to the Rumanian train rides; to the Baby Yar when they were buried alive; my grandpa watched his father being shot in front of his eyes, while his mom was being raped. To use those kind of analogies does not establish a positive correlation, but merely shows clear contempt for Israel, for the holocaust survivors, and for the Jewish people as a whole. Ladies and gentleman, I am both ashamed and feel sorry for you for letting hatred for the Jewish people consume you. The difference is completely clear, Israel in nowhere near, not even 1%, to the crimes that you accuse Israel of committing. As my professor once said, “As long as Palestinians cry out for the destruction of Israel; threaten to kill every single Jew and let their blood drain to the Mediterranean Sea; blow themselves up in crowded restaurants, buses, and markets; raise their children to hate the Jews and to kill Jews everywhere they see them; as long as the Palestinians do not learn to love their children more then they hate the Jews; carry arms against Israel; they would have to be restrained or Israel would cease to exist.” Why is it that it is so hard for the Israeli bashers to understand?
Now for the Catholics should the Bishops really talk? I believe that you Christians have a saying, “Let he without a sin strike the first stone.” Isn’t just me or was it my imagination, but the Catholic Church has participated in numerous atrocities against the Jews, haven’t they. German Catholics have expelled Jews four time throughout history of Germany, attempted genocides on the Jews three times: for several years during the first Crusades, for several years during the second Crusades, and finally on the larger scale during WWII. If I am not mistaken the Catholics have killed more Jews then the Muslims, Russian Orthodox Church, Greek Orthodox Church, and the Baptists combined. Let me also refresh your memory that Inquisition was responsible of ending Jewish life in Spain and Portugal. Also, the Catholics forced the Jews to live isolated from their Christian neighbors, accusing the Jews of killing Christian children and using their blood to bake Sabbath bread or for matza, accusing them of causing illnesses, accusing them of poisoning water supplies, accusing them of controlling the commerce, and for all other deeds they saw would help their cause to hate the Jews even more. How funny that the same Catholic Bishops are now accusing the Jews, yet again for the same crimes and how ironic is it the Palestinians are using the same excuses that the Catholics have used in the past. But who am I to talk I am only a Jew and you will accuse me as such or even better you will accuse of being a Zionist nazi.
Look at the history of the Catholic Church during WWII. They have done nothing to save the Jews when they knew what was happening. It appears that their morality was lost and is still nowhere to be found. My question is simple why did the Catholic Church not condemn the violence that the Palestinians perpetrate via terror? Let’s get down to the root of things of why the world is against the Jews. You tell us that we have the right to exist, but when we defend ourselves we are accused of crimes against humanity. It seems to me that one thing is still as true today as it was in the past that the world still has the notion that the Jews must disappear from this world. According to the Catholics we are supposed to wait in like obedient cattle to be led to the meat processing plant. The only problem is that the same people show more kindness to the cattle then to the Jews.

"While crossing one of the checkpoints into East Jerusalem the Archbishop of Cologne, Cardinal Joachim Meisner, told reporters: "This is something that is done to animals, not people." Meisner, a resident of eastern Germany, said that the fence reminded him of the Berlin Wall and that in his lifetime he did not believe he would see such a thing again. As the Berlin Wall was brought down so will this wall be brought down, he said, adding that the fence served no purpose.
"The delegation's visit to Ramallah took place several hours after their visit to Yad Vashem and several of the bishops chose to equate the situation in the Palestinian Authority with the Holocaust.
""Cages in the image of ghettos," said the Bishop of Augsburg of the territories. Augsburg was once under the spiritual leadership of Pope Benedict XVI, who was Archbishop of the Munich-Freising Archdiocese and his brother Monsignor Georg Ratzinger still resides there.
""Israel has, of course, the right to exist, but this right cannot be realized in such a brutal manner," said Bishop Hanke, who later stated that he intends to amend this year's Easter message to German churches so as to include the delegation's political impressions from their visit to the territories and a demand to change the situation."
As first time visitors these people will no doubt be shocked at the checkpoints and towers and walls Israel uses to stop Palestinians from entering and restrict their freedom of movement. This restriction also has an adverse effect on the Palestinian economy. Unfortunately, however, these visitors do not seem to understand the grave threat posed to Israel's existence and safety by Palestinian groups who have a long history of political violence and terrorism, and who terrorized the borders before the construction of such buildings. The best example is the Gaza Strip Barrier, which many people have affectionately named The Apartheid Wall. Before this wall was built, there were dozens of attacks a year, from gunmen to rockets to suicide bombings, and thousands of innocent Israelis were killed doing things like boarding their school buses and shopping. After the wall was built, it was nothing short of a miracle. Attacks decreased by 85%! Another example of the necessity of this wall is what happens even during its existence. A few months ago a Palestinian suicide bomber angered by Israel's digging activities near the Dome of the Rock managed to infiltrate the Barrier and blew himself up in a bakery in Eilat, killing the owner and two bystanders. It was the first suicide bombing in Eilat's history, and Hamas refused to criticize it, despite the fact that it had just discussed recognizing Israel in exchange for lifting the economic boycott, and despite the fact that Olmert had just given Fatah a hundred million dollars for humanitarian and security reasons. Can you imagine how determined that man must have been to kill Jews at any cost? I challenge all the Palestinian sympathizers here to prove that Israelis could be safe without this wall, and Palestinians could be trusted not to commit atrocities against the women and children of Israel like the Israeli MUSLIM woman who was killed by a Sderot rocket.
By the way, the fact that you found that article in an ISRAELI news site also speaks for itself. It's irrelevant, but Israel has the greatest press freedom in the Middle East. I'd like to see Egyptians leave people like Kareem Aamer (who said Muslims showed their true ugly faces after attacking Alexandrian churches in his blog) alone instead of giving them four years behind bars.
Hehe. Giving me thumbs downs doesn't prove me wrong, sorry. All the evidence is on my side and it speaks for itself. I've discussed this in a lot more detail than the answerers getting thumbs ups from people who would rather blindly believe the popular mythology about colonizing Israeli boogie monsters than face the inconvenient truth that the Palestinians cannot be trusted to campaign peacefully for their own state.
Oh, who am I kidding? You people have no debating abilities. All you can do is brush off criticism and fall into deeper depths of ignorance.
