The bible to forbid eating of pork

"Of their flesh you should not eat,and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclean to you"
[Leviticus 11:7-8]

“And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud,
it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their
dead carcass.” [Deuteronomy 14:8]

A similar prohibition is repeated in the Bible in the book of Isaiah chapter 65 verse 2-5.

Did you know? Eating of pork can cause no less than seventy different types
of diseases. A person can have various helminthes like roundworm, pinworm,
hookworm, etc. One of the most dangerous is Taenia Solium, which is in lay
man’s terminology called tapeworm. It harbours in the intestine and is very long.
Its ova i.e. eggs, enter the blood stream and can reach almost all the organs of
the body. If it enters the brain it can cause memory loss. If it enters the heart it
can cause heart attack, if it enters the eye it can cause blindness, if it enters the
liver it can cause liver damage. It can damage almost all the organs of the body.
Another dangerous helminthes is Trichura Tichurasis.A common misconception about pork is that if it is cooked well, these ova die.
Pork has fat building material
Pork has very little muscle building material and contains excess of fat. This fat
gets deposited in the vessels and can cause hypertension and heart attack.

OT, yes!

Jesus absolved us of that, later when He said "!'ts not that which enters the mouth that profanes it, but that which comes out of it which does so!"

Cheers!

No it doesn't. When jesus came along, he did some kind of law fulfillment. All the OT laws, like above, only apply to the Jews since they live by it. Christians pay more attention to the NT.

And when he was confronted for casting demons into a herd of swine that subsequently rushed into the sea and drowned, Jesus said they were not fit for human consumption anyway. This shows that modern day Christianity is not in total agreement with the bible.

the O.T. does state what is to be eaten. that was the dietary laws of the Jewish religion. they were also told not to eat shell fish either. (i know many of the Jewish faith that do eat these foods.)

what it all comes down to is using common knowledge and eating balanced meals. paying heed to what your body can and can not tolerate. eating certain parts of all animal meats are not so good for you, so by paying attention to what cuts of meat you are eating and the amount you will be eating healthy.
people have a tendency to overeat certain foods (like fast food) that are not good for the body.
moderation is the key.

I know that some Christians forbid eating of pork, but I'm a Roman Catholic, I eat whatever that God provides.

All of your citations are from the Old Testament, and hence part of the Law. The Law passed away - it served its purpose - when Christ died on the cross. We are no longer under the law but under grace. See the story of Peter's dream in Acts.

From the book of Romans ch. 14 One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him.
...13Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. 14As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food[b] is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. 15If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died
...Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. 21It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall.

22So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves. 23But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin

Some Christians eat pork, some do not. This is not for us to judge. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it for the Lord.

And by the way, the law was not abolished, but established that we might be aware of sin.
Thanks.

Chrisitans believe that they are free from any law, as jesus atoned for their sins.
Sin is no more sins for them. They have full right to break the commandments. They can rape, murder...or whatever they like, they can do.

Orignal sin-crucifixion-atonemennt..that's it
