Vineyards can be found in many countries. The most countries most known for producing great wines are France, Portugal, Italy, Germany, United States, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Spain, Chile.

There are festivals held frequently to celebrate wine, taste wine, and judging of the wine.

I would suggest reading more about wine production at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wine

1. California, Spain, France and Italy are the main areas.
2. Wine is made from squeezing the grapes and sometimes
adding yeast or sugar depending on the winery and
letting it ferment.
3. Not so much in the US as in other countries.
4. He oversees the entire operation, the fertilization of the
plants, the watering of the plants, adding new plants,
culling out unproductive plants, determining when to pick
the grapes and testing the juice to decide what additives
will produce the best wine.
5, The workers keep the vines pruned, follow the directions
of the manager and try to ensure the health of the vines
for maximum production.
The use of any pesticides is very critical and must not be
done any where close to harvest time since it could spoil
the wine.

If you're in the U.S. you may be surprised to know that California is not the only state with vineyards. NY, NJ, MI, IL, OR, WA and many others also have vineyards.
