My boyfriend finished with me last week.He has a sister who is anorexic, and her sister makes him feel that he caused it. I told him that I had been having eating problems from stress with exams,he thought it was because of him and finished with me,'he had no alternative',and that can't deal with any stress from me at the moment. We had a row, I said 'so if you came to me with an eating problem', i should've just finished with you, and not be supportive', he just walked off! Have said sorry for hurting feelings in a text to him, now what? I see him around all the time, and we dated for a year and bit.

Why did you tell him you has eating problems when you know of his anorexic sister and his feeling of guilt to her? Were you trying to provoke him and see what he will do? Now you know exactly what his attitude is to dating girls with eating problems but it doesn't help you much. You should have been more senistive knowing about his family trouble. He knows exactly what it is to live with a person with eating problems and he is scared to death that he same might happen in his intimate relationship. So it's just natural that he will avoid such a relationship at all costs. If you want to try to fix that, be honest to yourself and to him and tell him why you confessed your problems to him in the first place, and then apologize. Assure him you have no eating problems and try to deal with such problems at all times.

Sounds like a cop out to me, I would never walk out on my lady just like that without trying to help her. You obviously told him about your stress which was a sign of you asking for help, you can do better than him! He doesn't deserve you, don't stress about it and move forward with your life.

If you really need him then you can go to him and apologize and see if he was really angry because of what you said or he was tired with the relationship.

Now that he has apologised, let history be history. Move on with the relationship.
