I've had this American friend since late January. She's been chatting with an Arab Egyptian Muslim who comes from a poor family for about a year now. He was 20 and she was 16 when they met. Now he's 21 and she's 17. She plans to visit him this summer. He used to be in the Muslim Brotherhood, a banned organization. His plans for her are conversion to Islam and marriage as soon as he has enough money to start a family with her. They want to have four children they've already named, and he's said he wants her pregnant by the time she leaves the country after her visit. He wants her to wear the abaaya (body), hhijaab (hair), and niqaab (face). He's told her not to talk to other guys, in real life or online. He spies on her on msn and Yahoo! by signing in as invisible and seeing what time she gets on and how long she stays on, because he's told her never to be online when he's not online. Sometimes he gets his friends to do it for him.

When he found out about me leaving Islam, he said I should be killed, and he got so mad about her talking to me, she has to lie about it now. When she asked him if he'd take a second wife if she was infertile, he hesitated and said his family would expect it from him. He's also flirted heavily with her. Her parents know none of this.

She's having second thoughts but is still attached to him and still plans to see him this summer. I really don't know what to do...I care about this girl very much, and her boyfriend and what she's about to do with him scares me.

He's very serious about this marriage. He already has a house ready for them to live in and he's told his family and he's just experiencing money problems.

Yes Rose...He's also said he wants her to do all the housework. She has to learn to cook. He said she can go out 'to the market' and places like that.

The house is old and belongs to a friend of his who's letting him have it. She said it was run-down and he was trying to fix it.

The best I can tell you is: Try to convince/show her that marriage is for a LIFETIME and its foundation is TRUST. If he does'nt trust her NOW, then he NEVER will. It will be a life of hell. Also, try appealing to her own feelings. I mean she KNOWS in her gut that this is one big mistake. Thats why she's having doubts. She is ALREADY going to have trouble breaking it off if she so chooses. Tell her to try a test. She should tell him that she wants more time to "think" about it, and she is thinking of calling it off. She will then discover how DANGEROUS he really is. If she has the courage to do this, her eyes will soon be opened. I sure hope that this helps. I'll be praying for her. Bless you, for being her friend and caring about her....theBerean

I am middle eastern muslim too...um you say shes American ok well shes going to have a tough time adjusting to his life style. She will regret it later. The life style shes facing if she goes is to cook and clean all day and be treated like a servant. note. not all middle eastern guys are like this..but from the looks of it, he is one of the rotten apples that has a worm living inside of it. Tell her to runnnnnnn. please dont let her make this mistake. islam is a beautiful religon but he is the type that abuses it. so ask your friend if you approves of her life as a house wife and slave to some idiot protective man. you think its bad if he spys on her online?? wait until she will be forbidden from leaving the house and seeing the light of day!!!!!!

Do you believe in God?
There are many things out of our control. But God is in control of everything, so take Him to take control and tell your requests that you wish her life to be well.
Jesus did many miracles and wonders that amazed many like healing sick, raising from dead.
These are all simple for God. When you ask God anything in Jesus name, He said He will answer it.
I have received many requests answered and some on the process, cause the living God will and can.

Tell the girl that the boy is sick and keep away from him, there is no compulsion in islam, and spying on her all the time and rest shows that the boy is mentally sick, And i guess her life would be very difficult with him if she marries him !

If this is true, even though she's 17 you should tell her parents everything you have told us. They need to know what's going on.
