It is just a saying. Your mum means you will find someone else to share your life and love with.

If she says that, it means you just broke or left another girl, that's why she is saying there are better ones in your life.

Unless you were complaining about a woman in your life. Or if you were married and she said that, even worst.

Mother's will never let you boys grow up. They will squeeze you so hard, so hard, that like lemons you will be squeezed in between their twisted words, and even your marriage will go hell one day if you stay with her stupid ideas.

Mother's should be plaster on their lips when there boys have matured and married or in relationships. They should then be put in a luggage and put on a plane to the moon. That's where they belong. They'd meet their age people and stay there for good. Away from all their sons - who think their mum's are help, but they are hell instead.

Don't worry, your mum's great now. But one day when you marry a beautiful woman, then you'll know what i'm talking about. At least you'll learn before taking that step of another woman in your life, except your mother!

You girl friend must have told your mum that she giving you the heave ho and like a caring mum and not wanting to see you hurt and upset...remarked 'there are planty more fish in the sea' the meaning of which I suspect you already know. 'Plenty more fish to fry' dinae ye worry yersel laddie

The puzzle is why would your ex tell your mum and not you?

And yes your right your mum probably doesn't know you at all most parents don't we only think we know how they feel what they want etc!.

Maybe she's dating someone and you don't know about it.

Plenty more fish in the sea usually means, there's plenty of guys/girls out there, I don't have to wait around for this one!

"Plenty more fish in the sea" is just an expression that means "there's more out there"

When my mum used to say that to me it was when I
had fell out with a boyfriend.
She would say 'forget him - theres plenty more fish in
the sea'. It would get me mad and I would say 'yeah
but its trying to catch them'

Good Luck - yr mom probably knows you more than
you know yourself!!
