The coloring in the shampoo is not concentrated enough to have an effect on the lather or foam. If the desire of the manufacturer is to color the hair , then it would be formulated differently. The shampoo color is for marketing purposes only...those that attracts customers to buy their products. : )

It's because of a chemical reaction that produces the foam.

soap + water + air= foam
regardless of the color of the soap.
