how can you believe that everything happened so spontaneously when there are stats that say that things such as the big bang are so unlikely to have happened.

Why do you find it so hard to Believe in a God who created the whole world in six days and that we were made in the image of God and yet you believe that we were made of practically bacteria....how degrading. Why do you think there is such a high youth suicide rate? People don't see their worth anymore.

Why?

"how can you believe that everything happened so spontaneously when there are stats that say that things such as the big bang are so unlikely to have happened."

***Actually, there are a few camps out there that have different theories besides the Big Bang; one of them is the Steady State Theory, which I personally believe in. To me Big Bang is religion wrapped up in science. Also, even if it were so unlikely to happen, Considering there's all the "time" in the...um, universe (lol) for a big boom to happen, it's more like a really long wait than a statistic problem.

"Why do you find it so hard to Believe in a God who created the whole world in six days and that we were made in the image of God"

***There you go. Why should I believe it? Why can't I believe Zeus did it? Anu, Enlil and Enki? Rainbow Serpent? What give's YOUR god the only justification to create the planet? What gives any of the gods mentioned that justification? Nothing. We made the myths of the gods to explain everything. Yahweh is NOT different.

"...yet you believe that we were made of practically bacteria....how degrading. "

***How is that degrading? You I find it fascinating. We ARE made of cells. We are multicellular, which evolved from single celled life, probably because it's better to be in a group. It took a LONG time before all this happened though, considering the planet was quite barren back in the day when it was younger.

"Why do you think there is such a high youth suicide rate? People don't see their worth anymore."

***So you blame evolution? I blame society. Much easier and the connections are there.

You're aware that the Big Bang and evolution have nothing to do with each other, right? Just checking.

Do you suppose you could link to or cite some of those statistics that say the Big Bang is unlikely to have happened? Not only have I never seen those, I find it hard to imagine what kind of "stats" would be relevant in this case.

Evolution does not say that we are made of bacteria, any more than it says that we evolved from monkeys. Evolution does say that we and the monkeys had a common ancestor, and (if you take it back far enough) that we and the bacteria had a common ancestor. The fact that we all use the same DNA is pretty fair evidence of that. I'm not sure how exactly that qualifies as "degrading".

If you're making an argument in favor of creationism as opposed to evolution, I'm not sure how the teen suicide rate comes into it. If I didn't know better, I'd say it looks like you're arguing we should believe something not because it's true but because it leads to better social outcomes. I'm sure you're not saying that, though, because that would be insane.

As to why: well, I look at the evidence. I do not believe that we understand the mechanism behind evolution. Natural selection doesn't cut it, and random genetic mutation is also a hard pill to swallow for a variety of reasons, although both certainly play their part. However, the modification of life forms over time has more than enough evidence to back it up that I think it fair to say it's proved - at least, in the scientific sense if not the mathematical.

This is why - Chemical evolution has two meanings and uses. The first refers to the theories of evolution of the chemical elements in the universe following the Big Bang and through nucleosynthesis in stars and supernovas.

The second use of chemical evolution or chemosynthesis is as a hypothesis to explain how life might possibly have developed or evolved from non-life (see abiogenesis). Various experiments have been made to show certain aspects of this process, the first ones were done by Stanley L. Miller in the 1950s. For that they are now called Miller experiments. However only very basic organic building blocks were obtained. The challenge is getting complex molecules organized consistently.

The hypothesis is that simple chemical compounds could catalyze the creation of copies of themselves (somewhat similar to the formation of a crystal or polymer) in an environment rich with the necessary building block compounds or elements. As these chemical replicators "reproduce", they can be created with slightly different structures randomly, similar to biological mutations. Eventually these replicators would produce protocells.

Because in this country we have a separation of 'church' and state, and our religious leaders have failed the people.

Catholicism has been so oppressive with its unrealistic expectations and its manipulative use of guilt and Sin.

Lets not even touch upon the molestation, and the terrible events that Roman Catholicism is known for.

Inquisition set off a bell for you?
Roman Catholics havent always lived up to the Love your neighbor as you love yourself commandment.

What has happened is that even these leaders of today have lost all sight of GOD, as they have only looked after their own agendas. theyve isolated themselves, and seem to be on the only path as to prove their own belief system the correct one.

Hence you have too many religions that only confuse this generation.

It is easy to condemn non-believers, but better way to gather their attention would be to help SHOW GODS power and Love.

Their arguement, as is mine, is why doesnt the religious leaders of today "put their Faith to work - because kindness to the poor and oppressed is an act of Wroship AND because there is no limit to GOD's great power for those that have True Faith in HIM, why dont they use that power to solve this countries social problems"

Otherwise, you can say all you want, but the actions say these problems are greater than GOD who in your belief should allow you to move mountains.

I believe in the GOD of Abraham Isaac Jacob and JESUS CHRIST with all my heart mind and soul, and I try to treat my brothers as I would want them to treat me.. But I also understand why todays generation seems to lack a willingness to want to know HIM.

and until our religious leaders gather together and prove what one can do and how mighty GOD is to those that know not of HIM, then all it wil be is mere words, when actions speak louder and send a different limiting message to the people

6 days?Wow.I can understand how a bunch of guys in a desert a few thousand years ago could have imagined a six day creation. But in modern times it is hard to understand how any educated person could believe that. Not even all Jews really believe that 6 day nonsense.

I would say it is the creationists that are gullible.

There is plenty of proof of evolution, yet none at all of creationism.
