My hair is really dry too. Maybe some leave in conditioner will work...it's kind of helped my hair out a little. And Panteene Pro-V works really really well. Makes it feel soft, but my hair still isn't healthy.

You don't need to spend a lot of money at all to fix this. All you need is a bottle of oil. Many people like to use olive oil, but actually cheaper alternatives - grapeseed oil, groundnut oil, etc - are just as good. I would avoid vegetable oil because it doesn't smell as nice, but it won't do any damage if you use it.

Apply the oil liberally to dry hair, working it all the way through from ends to roots (especially roots), giving yourself a nice scalp massage at the same time if you like.

Wrap clingfilm and/or a towel around your head, and leave on for about 20 mins or half an hour. It doesn't really matter how long you leave it on - that's just what works for me. Actually, 5 minutes is better than nothing, and you can leave it on overnight if you like for a really intense treatment (though you might get oil all over your pillows!).

Wash off oil thoroughly with two shampoos and condition and style as usual.

I do this about 1-2 times a week, but you can do it as often or as rarely as needed. It makes a HUGE difference.

If you want to get creative, mix a couple of drops of lavender, rosemary or neroli essential oil with the plain oil - this smells lovely and some people think the essential oils bring added benefits. You can also try using almond oil or coconut oil (coconut oil is very rich, and therefore particularly good for very dry hair).

Most professional oil treatments that you can buy are basically just a combination of these ingredients. Don't waste your money - it's much cheaper and better to make a hair oil at home!

If your hair is especially dry, try rubbing in about 1/4 cup of olive. Wash your hair with shampoo first, then towel dry it. Rub in the olive oil on the hair and the scalp and wrap it in a warm towel you no longer want (because the towel will smell like olive oil after you're finished). Sit in it for about 40 minutes then wash it out using a little bit of shampoo. That works wonders for really dry hair.

Hi, I feel your pain! But I use a product by Schwarzkopf called Sealed Ends. It only costs about $12 from somewhere like Price Attack and you put a tiny, tiny bit on your hands and smooth it through dry hair. I can't live without it! Also, I have been taking a supplement by Blackmores called Hair, Skin and Nails which seems to do wonders! Plus, my fingernails are longer than ever!!! Can't hurt to try I guess!

Buy a good treatment. The best $25 I ever spent was for a small tub of treatment that I put on my hair after I'd washed it, and wrapped my head in gladwrap for the night & went to bed. Wash it out in the morning. Do that 3 times & you'll be amazed. I never could understand the point in spending so much on the stuff when you could get it for $10 at the supermarket, but trust me - it'll be worth every cent. I bought mine from the salon & it was definately worth every cent. It'll really soak it up the first time, and gradually you'll need less every time you use it as your hair repairs itself. Just make sure you spend the money & get a good one... Good luck! :)
