and told me how much he liked me, how much he wanted to be with me and I'm not sure if I believe him anymore.
I mean, he was awfully drunk. Almost slurring.

I had a guy call me drunk on a Friday night when we had a date Saturday. Turns out he was checking up on me to see if I was dating somebody else. Alcohol loosens the inhibitions, but that doesn't mean what they say is truth. It just means they get the guts to do what they wouldn't normally have the guts to do, like check on you. Actions speak louder than words.

People gain the courage to say things they usually wouldn't when drunk.. You know, behaviour becomes exaggerated, etc. Yeah, by the sounds of it he does want to be with you.
Do you want to be with an alcoholic though? Did he do it last night? Getting drunk on a tuesday evening is pretty damn bad, I drink a good bit, but I can keep it to weekends. It's a dangerous path to walk down if he needs to drink to tell you how he feels.

Obviously, there is some truth. He thought about you. However, most people when they are drinking are not thinking correctly. His speech was not the only thing slurred. Give it more time if you are interested.

Happy drunks love everyone when they are drunk. If i told me gals I loved her when I was drunk she would brush it off. If i surprised her with a comment that I loved her out of the blue when we were shopping or watching T.V, she new I meant it!

i would believe him. im the same way, when i get tipsy i spill my guts about everything. my friend im dating also does the same thing. he's a quiet person but if i come over after a night of drinking he's off the wall and telling me everything thats on his mind (i personally like him better when he's drunk). listen carefully to what he's saying.

i remember once some rabi on tv said u know that a man is telling the trueth when he is angry or drunk. i think he might of been talking about the mel gibson being drunk drama but i think it applies here.

he's telling the truth.. alchohol lowers inhibition..
but!
it also lowers guard against other things like lonliness and horniness and amplifies the emotions to a TV reality show kinda level. so there's truth in what he said, but i'd just straight up call him when he's sober and ask.
