No, the Bible was not "just a book," nor is it proof of our gullibility. There is a particular something about it which has helped it retain its relevancy for those who believe in the Word.
Moreover, to dismiss any sort of literature, Bible or not, with a flourish and a "It's just a book" is intellectual suicide. Uncle Tom's Cabin was "just a book," yet it was a key factor in precipitating the American Civil War and helped the North to win out against the South. The written word has always been influential, swaying even those who are not "gullible" or "brain dead."

Yes, I guess people are gullible, just look at all those who keep posting the question about "Jesus' bones". They fell for the Discovery Channel's "Mockumentary" hook, line and sinker.
But about the Bible, it is not "just a book" and it is not "magical".
But it is the truth and any simple research with an open mind would demonstrate what an amazing work it is.
I believe it to be absolutely true and the inspired Word of God.

Ok. since you think that bible readers are gullible, you write a book with accuracy that explains what goes on 2,000 years from now. Write a book that prophecies the floods, diseases, and human behavior of today and get back to me on that. Until then, read the entire book and get revelation on every scripture. Your saying that it's not the truth but how can you tell if it's a lie? Explain that and get back to me.

You left out Ignorance. Was this on purpose or are you afraid you might just fit snugly into this category? God is real and Jesus is real and they're Holy Spirit is real. God created you! What about this statement do you not understand? This will all become clear when you have passed the test of faith during your judgment in front of Jesus Himself. This will happen when you die. To be without life in this world is to be with Jesus in His world. What happens after that is up to Jesus and God. Your spirit may either live in eternity or go to Hades. Hades by the way does not mean Hell. In the old Greek, it translates to the grave. In other words, your spirit will die...

Gullible? Hardly; it took many years of study to convince me that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, and inspired word of God.
Brain dead? I have provided a link to an excellent on line Theology course that explains how to study the Bible historically and grammatically. You should really check it out to find the proof you need. It is free, and all are welcome.

no...can't you see that it is the inspired word of the Living God. It is in harmony with history (events/people same in bible as in history) and God, through it, has foretold many events/ things that have taken place.
Can't you see truth in this.
Jesus is coming back soon whether you want to believe it or not. One day when you see the truth you can't say you never heard
please give God a chance and don't be arrogant
God Bless you and open you eyes!

No. And their 'gullibility' is not based on the book. It's based on who the book is about and the proofs that accompany that belief. The book is just one of many many testimonies.

Yes, mankind is gullible. I am completely amazed that there are such things as atheists. See, it works both ways. Just live and let live man.
