Well pot is illegal throughout Canada, so I'd suggest not bringing any with you. As far as the temperature goes. It can rang between 20'F and 90'F between April and September. Remember the closer you are to bigger cities, the hotter it gets with the humidity during the summer months. I'd suggest bringing warm clothing for the colder nights from April-June, and summer clothes for the other months. The weather is pretty unpredictable as like anywhere you travel. Enjoy your trip!

If you are travelling through Canada from March all the way to September, I am assuming you will be hiking or biking it and will not be in one province all that time?

Canada is such a vast area that you can expect significant weather changes just from province to province. If you look at the weather for March in Canada, we are presently in a deep freeze of -20C and by August, the weather will be close to 35C. The equivalent in fahrenheit would be something like -5F all the way to 85F.

Best way is to pack so you can layer the clothing. Perhaps a pair of thermal underwear, and woolen sweater for March and part of April along with a warm coat. For the rest of the time, you will want light materials that you can layer (cottons?). For mid-summer, you will want shorts and short sleeves.

Running shoes or hiking boots are fine for the spring and summer months. You may want some sort of lined winter boots for March and April, at least until we get past the chance of 6" of snow and loads of road salt and slush.

As for marijuana, it is illegal across Canada. There has been talk of legalizing it, but nothing yet. There was a few stories out west of doctor's that prescribed weed for a few patients suffering from severe pain, and a couple of clubs tried to open up, but they were quickly shut down by the cops.

Just keep in mind that if you are caught with it, it will still classify as a posession charge.

marijuana is technically illegal in BC, but the police do not do anything about it. It is not at all uncommon to pass people openly smoking it.
