Don't nap during the day. Visit a doctor first, as you may be suffering from depression, or may need referral to a sleep disorder clinic.

It could be food that you are eating since they put a lot of unhealthy things in food these days. DON'T eat anything that says Diet or Lite (Diet coke, etc). It contains Aspartame which is horrible, and High Fructose corn syrup isn't good for you either. Watch what you eat!

Also, it could be your sleeping cycles. When you sleep, either get a full rest (about 7-8hours), or 4 hours, or 10 mins. If you sleep in any other pattens than this, the sleep cycle your body is going through at that moment will be disrupted and cause you to be tired and not well rested.

I would definitely see a Doctor. This sounds like Hypothyroidism (something I have and I now take a thyroxine supplement for).

Your thyroid gland is in your neck, just below your vocal cords and it produces triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4), chemicals which regulate your metabolism (including sleep). I even put on 40 pounds while the V.A. was getting my medication dosage straightened out (and fasting didn't help).

My prayers,
Doktor.Von§

Aside from trauma (getting hit in the neck, say), there is no definite cause or reason for hypothyroidism.

You are over-stressed. Relax. Too much work naturally makes you tired. Aging adds to the sleepiness.

You appear to have gotten into a downward spiral.
The only solution I know is, improve you food (more fruit & vegetables) & you need to get out & exercise (get the endorphines going) with others who will encourage you. viz. join a running club near you (walking is not vigorous enough to get endorphines going).
