The pain varies from person to person, but these don't tend to hurt much at all and the clamps tend to hurt worse than the piercing itself. (I pierced free-handed, but a lot of places still use clamps.)
The procedure is that you show ID (and your parent, too, if you're underage), fill out forms, go back to the piercing room, the areas are cleaned, your piercist will scrub up and put on disposable gloves, your piercist will pull out autoclaved tools and jewelry, the piercist marks the area to be pierced with a marker or a toothpick in ink, you look in the mirror and approve of the placement, the clamps go on, you take a breath, needle goes through flesh, the jewelry chases the needle, the threaded end goes onto the jewelry, the piercist cleans off the blood, you're given both verbal and paper aftercare instructions, you pay, and you're on your merry way.
It should be over fairly quickly... the longest part is autoclaving. If you go into shock, it may take a while to get you back on your feet, but if you have a sugary drink or a meal before hand, you should be fine.
Oh, you should make sure that you have the proper anatomy for your bellybuttom piercing... they'll probably still pierce you, but you'd end up with a scar after the piercing rejects. If you have a fold of skin on the top of your navel, you should be set. Also, try to find someone who's a member of the APP.

My husband got his eyebrow done a few years ago and he said it didn't hurt that much when he got it he just flinched a bit felt like he was getting a needle. But afterwards he was complaining how much it was hurting it got infected a bit it was preety sore for months it's right now though.
Not sure about your belly though have heard it hurts and gets infected easily.

belly button dosent hurt, i have had mine done 3 times but they take a long time to heal, the eyebrow may hurt a little, but its all over so fast, and its all worth it if its what youve been wanting, so dont think about it and just do it, close your eyes and dont watch!!!
