Do mix marriages affect the children?

My mum and dad are very different in Religion ways and their backgrounds. One says you’re not allowed to have freedom and the other says do as you want it’s your life??

I wonder what people views on my dad’s side and my mum’s side about us??

Of cores we take our mothers traditions and ways of doing things?? But we don’t get the respect on my dad’s side and my bf thinks like them too so he doesn’t respect the way I am. Plus we live in my dad’s environment so we have to play by the rules which we don’t go by with?

Does the say “when you’re in Rome do as the Romans do”? Do we have to fake things that were not? So we can be accepted in the people’s eyes and do what they do??

Yes mix marriage do affect the children. It will be tough for the children to understand their parents' thinking and behaviour. Perhaps you would like to talk to your parents about it and how it is effect you? Let your parents discuss it and see what they think.
