Would'nt possibly happen. The whole purpose of the enstrual cycle is the womb discharging the unfertilised egg. When the cycle is complete the wonb has to reline itself with blood and nutrients to receive a new egg. This process takes 12days.Not only can't you be impregnated on the 4th day of your cycle. It is virtually impossible to conceive,in the first 12days after cycle.

You can get pregnant on EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE YEAR!! No matter WHERE you are in your cycle, it is possible to get pregnant. Why don't people ever pay attention in health class...
EDIT in response to Pregnant:
True, the actually conception happens during ovulation, but if you have sex, sperm is sprayed up into your vaginal canal. From there it swims toward your uterus where, possibly, an egg is waiting. Some of those sperm can live a week or two, so by the time the egg drops (ovulation) the sperm is still alive and possibly able to fertilize. Instead of recommending the internet (seeing as you pointed out how many "flipping idiots" reside there), you should have recommended she go to a doctor and ask him what the facts are. Any DOCTOR will tell you that the male sperm live longer than 4 days, it's the female sperm who die quicker.

If your hormones change the way they are suppose to throughout your cycle, no. However; a small number of us, me included, do not ovulate when we are suppose to. I ovulate the first day of my period. It is not common, but it can happen. I found out about my ovulation time using a thermometer and having a doctor read the results. You can be ovulating at the wrong time and have a very regular monthly cycle too. My cycle is normal. So, even though it is unlikely... it can happen.

NO!!!!! OMG there are so many flipping idiots on yahoo....yeah why didnt you pay attention in health class. Anyways...you can only get pregnant when your ovulating which is normally day 14 of your cycle (day 1 is first day of period). You ovulate for 12-24 hours. Sperm can live in you for 3 days. So in all actuality there are about 4 days a month you can become pregnant. Google ovulation. Every site will tell you that you may only become pregnant when ovulating which is one day of the month!
