The primary sources supporting the event are included in the Bible.
There are no secondary sources, but there are numerous tertiary sources (written perhaps 50 years or more after the event).
There are no authoritative sources challenging the event that I know of.
Some people will quote Josephus in "Antiquities of the Jews". Josephus was contemporary to the apostle Paul and mentioned the crucifixion in his book (and mentioned Jesus by name). My opinion is that the entry is an edit by a translator centuries after Josephus died and can't be relied on. (I'm referring to the quote that Serena gave you above. Josephus was into Greek oratory, and this tiny paragraph was not his style. He would have found a way to make it at least 4 times longer, as he did with all other quotes from the Bible.)
I've done searches of the Talmud online, but I've not yet found a reliable source from the older sections.
I have some of Pliny's writings, but I don't have a reference to Jesus. I have James, brother of Jesus and John the Baptist. (Not what you're looking for.)

Yes, there is evidence the A "JESUS" was crucified. As far as being Christ (the son of god) no proof has ever been written down outside of the bible. You can prove that Jesus was crucified based on roman and Hebrew historical documents, but none of them say he was Christ. If you read the actual documents they suggest he was Crucified because he was preaching against the present government occupying Israel and against the sacrifices the Jewish leaders were making.

How did you recognize it is a truth? the position's your aspects? How do i understand you're telling the undeniable truth that it truly is a historic truth the Romans did not crucify robbers? Do you've evidence? All I particularly have it truly is "truth" is your note. EDIT: Wikipedia claims lower than the Roman Empire crucifixion became used for "slaves, rebels, pirates and fantastically-despised enemies and criminals."

The Roman records speak of a crucifixtion of a Jew named Jesus at the right time. They obviously didn't call him Christ. There is also a record of many many Jewish babies named Jesus being born at the right time (in June four years off 12-25-0000) but again, the Romans wouldn't have had a record that said he was the son of god etc. There are tons of records of men named Jesus, many of whom who were carpenters, no record that Jesus Christ lived for certain though.

No. Try reading the accounts of the Crucifixion as given in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The Roman emperor Pontius Pilate was the one who presided over Christ's "trial" but he said to the Jews that he could find "......no fault in Him" and turned Him over to the Jews to do what they wanted with Him. They chose Crucifixion and got the Roman authorities to perform it on their behalf. The Romans merely carried out the Jews wishes in this regard.

Yes, the Crucifixion is mentioned by many secular writers and historians of ancient Rome and Judea. Josephus, Cornelius Tacticus to name a couple off the top of my head. They considered him a heretic and a revolutionary but the fact that he lived and was crucified is historical fact. The only dispute there is, is if he is the son of God or not.

Jesus definitely existed. There is ample proof of that.Check out Jospehus and Pliny the Younger for starters.
""When Pilate, upon the accusation of the first men amongst us, condemned [Jesus] to be crucified, those who had formerly loved him did not cease [to follow him], for he appeared to them on the third day, living again, as the divine prophets foretold, along with a myriad of other marvelous things concerning him."-Josephus.

To my knowledge, there are no records of any executions directed by Pontius Pilate. I've never seen or heard of any extra-Biblical sources that confirm such an execution.
__________
Ok, I should clarify: I've never seen or heard of any extra-Biblical sources that confirm such an execution that aren't considered forgeries by modern historians--Josephus is highly suspect.
