I am buying a new pillow top matress that is pretty thick n I wanted to know what size comforter would be best before buying~ The same goes for a twin size pillow top that I want to add an extra padding to~ Thanks~

A king will fit better. It may be a little long at the foot of the bed, but you won't be arguing over the comforter as much with your partner.
While you're shopping, check to see if they have any comforters made for pillow top mattresses. I know sheet sets are available that are made to fit.

We usually get a size larger than the bed (king for queen, queen for double, etc.). But be aware you may have to tuck it in so it doesn't drag the floor.
