All three...along with Sikhism and Ayyavazhi are Dharmic religions. They share a belief in karma, reincarnation (samsara), and the need to be liberated from samsara (moksha/mukti/nirvana are some of the words used by these various religions).

However Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism), Buddha Dharma (Buddhism), Jain Dharma (Jainism), Sikh Dharma (Sikhism), and Ayyavazhi Dharma (Ayyavazhi) primarily differ on how one achieves liberation/freedom from samsara. Jains hold nonviolence has the highest ideal in their religion and they strive to follow that principle, along with five others. Buddhism strives to rid oneself of attachments to all impermanent things. And so on.

There are some great articles at the BBC's religion and ethics section of their website about the Dharmic religions that give detail about Jainism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism on how they are similar and in their differences (in beliefs and practices). The website is http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion

Wikipedia also has some good articles about these religions along with Ayyavazhi that also explains the similarities and differences (and there are specific articles, if you look at the individual specific religion's article, that do comparisons for you stating the similarities and differences right there on Wikipedia).

Great question! Hope I've helped explain a little for you and hope that you find the websites I suggested as informative as I did. And don't forget, there may be Hindu mandirs/temples, Buddhist temples/centers, Jain temples, Sikh gurdwaras, etc all in your area. I know that I live in Oklahoma and there are two Hindu temples, many Buddhist temples and centers, Sikh gurdwaras, a Jain temple, mosques, synagogues, and churches....there are websites you can find this information on if you just type in Yahoo search for Jain temples and then the name of State/Province/Territory and/or nation and you'll find the websites. That's how I found out about all the religiousity diversity in my State.

Peace be with you.

Similarities between Hinduism and Buddhism is that both believe in reincarnation. While Hinduism has a caste system, Buddhism rejects the caste system. Both religions do not believe in life after death. While Hinduism believes in many gods, Buddhism mainly do not believe in God. Just based on the teachings of Buddha.

The similarities Hinduism and Jainism have are the theory of vegetarianism. Although not all Hindus are vegetarians, it comes from the idea of Jainism The difference is that Jainism rejects the caste system. Jains are much stricter in their theory of non violence i.e cannot be butchers, farmers or go in the army.

Basic similarities between all these religions are, they all are worshiping to their imaginery Idols, and they all beleives that GOD himself comes to visit this world into human form. And they all are forgetting and ignoring GOD Almighty is only one who created whole universe, but himself is not a creature. If there is any creature then there should be any creator. And GOD Almighty is the only creator who created several worlds (universe), Day, Night, Sun, Moon, Stars, Space, Earth, Air, Plants, Animals, Birds, Human Beings, Jinn and much more than our imaginory. And God Almighty made a protocol (set of rules) to explain how to live life, that is religion. But peoples created differences between each other because of ignorance. Ignorance because they didn't follows his orders. There is much more... Its too long to explain.
