There's a town that's gotten rid of the "Easter Bunny" and now call it the "Spring Bunny". But they also call christmas trees "holiday trees." I'm an atheist. I don't care what the heck it's called. all I know is i get chocolate bunnies and presents!

I think it's a bit unfair to include the jesus's tomb thing in this. Easter is still fairly far off. Regardless, though, I think it's more of a function of the media. I'm sure this stuff goes on year round, the media just doesn't see fit to broadcast it until it's around that time, when the subject is on people's minds. To give some US-specific examples (hope you can relate), you don't hear about fireworks safety until around july, and you hear a lot more about 9/11 when September rolls around, don't you?

Someone's always ruining the fun by talking endlessly about some guy who ran around yabbering about everything under the sun, and eventually ran foul of the law.

Geyzus or jazoos or something.

:)

j/k, Christian friends!

Could you be more specific with "some quack pulling some religious stunt around Easter" please? Maybe I have a little thought or two...

given the importance of getting his death correct the feast of the passover; exodus is the correct timing for his dying for our sins
we could at least give to him his day of our atonement
on the right day ,even if we get the time of his birth wrong the precise time and day are well known
