Well, evolution has certainly been embraced by Muslims historically. One of the first was Al-Jahiz (776-869 CE) in his text Kitab al-Hiwanat, who proposed the idea that bottlenecks due to migration and environmental changes caused changes in animal life. There was also Ibn Maskawaih, who wrote Fauz al-Asghar around the year 1000 CE. He suggested that man evolved from animals.

They are really rather fascinating texts. Both are written in Arabic, so my comprehension of the original texts was pretty limited, but I have seen English translations as well. Both texts were fairly well-known in the Muslim world and broadly accepted.

There is nothing in the Qur'an in the way of science, either to support or refute its claims; I am a scientist of broad experience and when reading it was particularly looking for such. Many people have made claims to the contrary, and I have looked at a lot of these; all that I have seen are bogus. It does, however, have other errors, one of which is so serious as to be the bane of every modern Islamic society. I don't recall any passage which had anything to do with evolution; in any event, evolution is now a proven fact.

I haven't visited these sights yet but I will. I have always believed that religious texts are full of science. I will be very interested to see what these sites say. Thanks.

But Islam itself is unable to evolve, it is stuck in the 12th Century and cannot move on, it has ossified like a pile of old bones ... it is an anachronistic superstitious dinosaur now in the 21st Century.
