Do you know why the worker at social services wants to know if you have life insurance when you're applying for medi-cal, foodstamp, and cash aid?

Because having life insurance is a monetary asset like owning a house or land. It does affect whether or not you're approved for these medical and other benefits. I've been getting medical for 7 yrs so yeah...

to see if you are scamming them or not. Life insurance is not a must but health insurance is.

Its a monetary asset, you have to cancel it and get the money from it before they will help you.

they need to know what bills you pay and if you have life insurance you pay for it
