When a Christian is "born again" his thoughts and desires change. He puts away his old personality of serving himself and clothes himself with a new personality that is born of Christ coming to live in his heart. He begins to show the fruits of this new person in Christ by developing Christ like qualities. He replaces selfishness with generosity, and self centered traits with serving God and his fellow man. He becomes a light that shines in a world of darkness and illuminates the way for others to come to Christ!

What happens when a Christian is "born-again"? You have to know that it is mysterious; yet it is specific, definite, and absolute.
When one sincerely asks the Lord to come into their heart, a transaction takes place between that person and God. The Holy Spirit of God enters the very deepest part of that person’s being (Some say the Holy Spirit enters the heart; others say, the Holy Spirit enters man's empty spirit and fills it.) The semantics does not alter the experience. The Bible defines what happens in this way.
Gal 4:6 - "And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father".
Not all people immediately experience a "noticeable" change; however, some people immediately know they have had a change. Some people don't notice when the lights are turned on; others, know immediately.
The Bible says, Colossians 1:12-14 "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins".
When a person is "born-again", the Bible says that person experience a new birth.
2Co 5:17 -"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
The person having been born again, having become a new creature, now finds himself with new feelings, new desires to love and please God. He notices that he doesn't enjoy or feel comfortable doing the things he has always done, such as lying, stealing, taking God's name in vain and all sorts of other sinful practices.
The newly born-again person now thinks about God when he/she wasn't expecting to. He/she is led to pray (talk with God), read God's Holy Word and much, much more. He begins to walk a new walk and talk a new talk and to be what he/she has never been before.
I encourage you to open your heart and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord, your Savior. I encourage you to be born-again.

The theological term for this blessing is "Regeneration." It is the radical transformation of a person's nature, accomplished by the direct and immediate exertion of God's creative power (the Holt Spirit), in conjunction with the gospel truth, by which the fundamental disposition, impulses and desires of the heart are made holy, so that the new tendency and life direction of the heart is away from self and sin and toward God and holiness. It is often referred to as being “born again.” Jesus said,
"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God... unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit... The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit." (Jn. 3: 3 – 8)
In this discourse, Jesus emphasizes that only the Holy Spirit of God can "born someone again." Hence, the source of the new birth is the Holy Spirit. The second fact being emphasized by Jesus is that regeneration – the new birth – is a monergistic work. It is the work of God the Holy Spirit alone, without the cooperation or contribution of the person thus renewed.
Regeneration is not mere moral reformation. It is a radical and complete transformation wrought in the inner being (Rom. 12:2; Eph. 4:23) by God the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5; Eph. 4:24), in which we become a “new creation” (Eph. 4:24; Col. 3:10), no longer conformed to this world (Rom. 12:2; Eph. 4:22; Col. 3:9), but in knowledge and holiness of the truth created after the image of God (Eph. 4:24; Col. 3:10; Rom. 12:2). It changes our fallen disposition of lawless and Godless self-seeking (Rom. 3:9-18; 8:7) into one of trust and loving compliance with God's law. It enlightens the darkened mind to discern spiritual realities (1 Cor. 2:14-15; 2 Cor. 4:6; Col. 3:10), and liberates and energizes the enslaved will for free obedience to God (Rom. 6:14, 17-22; Phil. 2:13).
Although the effects or fruits of regeneration are perceived (i.e. conversion, holy living, Christlikeness), the regeneration event is not: "The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit" (Jn. 3.8). The only way we may know that a person is “born again” is by the conduct of his or her life subsequent to regeneration and conversion.
Regeneration is an instantaneous change affecting the whole person.
It is a rebirth from death to life (Eph. 2.5), from darkness to light (Col. 1.13). It is not a process like sanctification. We are never between death and life, or darkness and light. We are either spiritual alive or still dead in our trespasses and sins.
Finally, the change wrought in regeneration is not a superficial or
temporary change. It is not something that can be “lost.” Regeneration is a sovereign work of God, which ensures that the elect whom He chose from eternity past will come to repentance and faith and grow into Christlikeness that this will endure to the end.
Hope this helps you, freind

First, there's an experience: the joy and wonder of being at peace with the Almighty and belonging to Him. Then, changes start. Priorities change as the person tries to become pleasing to God. Prayer becomes important as struggles start. Answered prayers give courage. Fellowship with experienced Christians becomes helpful and treasured. Then it goes on getting more challenging and generally better. Failures and weaknesses bring humility and a compassion for others' problems. Love grows. The explanation is that at the moment of re-birth, the Spirit of God comes to live in the person, making step-by-step changes that bring the person into closer harmony with God.

He or she admits that they are a sinner and cannot be in the presence of God. They then freely accept the gift of Christ's death on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for their sin. Then by believing that Christ rose from the dead, they know they have eternal life never to be seperated from God. They then have the Holy Spirit with them to help and guide them throughout the rest of their life. They are truly new creatures which is why it is referred to as being born again.

no man drinks old wine and then drinks new because he says the old is better. which means the old ways are better. What really happens when you are born again is you see the hypocrosy within many regilions they do not practice what they preach. Like christ said they say and do not. He also said there is only one father, One rabbi, and only one teacher, and he said when asked what what must one study his anwser was YOURSELF. Study yourself know yourself judge yourself, only then can you come to what is a righteous judgment. Peace be with you all anwsers are inside of yourself not from a man that stands upon a ;pulpit and says he knows the way, He does not know the way at all. and he lives in many lies>

It's a wonderful, spiritual experience coming from the Holy Spirit, who convinces us of God's complete love and forgiveness, and sets us free to become the people we are meant to be.
Of course it's only the beginning of a path of growth, so we're not instantaneously perfect! Christians still make many mistakes and need daily forgiveness and renewal.

Being born again means accepting god's forgiveness for all your past sins and being re-born with purity - wiped clean of all guilt.
it also means to accept god as 'the boss' in your life - he centres your life when you listen.
he is amazing when you are going through crap - you know that feeling when you have no-one to tell what is happening with you? like, sh*ts happening and you feel like your going to burst?
thats why there are so many christians. hes there.

When a Christian is born again he/she rejects his past sins and commits his/her life totally to Christ Jesus. To be born again is to be baptized under water and rise to the glory of Christ's redemption.

The life of the Spirit of God enters into the believer at that time.
Some may not 'feel' it, but i did. And I am so blessed to have that happen to me. I wasn't left to mguess or given to waiting for it at some other point in time of my life. It's just the way God blessed me personally. I wish that He could do that for many more people, it's miraculous!
