Mayweather will win by close decision because he will stay away from DeLaHoya's power and land more shots. Who do I want to win---DeLaHoya. If DeLaHoya can cut the ring off, land some good shots on Mayweather each round and tire him out, Mayweather is in big trouble late in this fight.

This is the last time I will answer this question for you people. Even in his prime, Oscar De La Hoya could not beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. IN his career, look who has given Oscar the most trouble stylewise: Pernell Whitaker, John John Molina, Ike Quartey, Felix Sturm, Shane Mosley (Forget Tito and Hopkins, Tito was lucky and B-Hop was way too big anyway). The other fighters all were boxers who weren't intimidated by the Golden Boy. Floyd never loses for a few reasons. One he is ridiculously talented, two, he is very gifted athletically, and three, in his mind, no one can beat him and he knows it. Oscar does not stand a chance. Forget that bigger stronger garbage. Oscar hasnt KO'ed a quality opponent in years. Mayorga and Gatti were made to order for him. If he thought Sugar Shane was fast, wait until he tries hunting down Pretty Boy. And Floyd is not afraid of getting hit. He's been hit. But boxing is about hitting without getting hit in return and no one does it better than him. Watch Floyd, even when he is on the ropes, he will never take more than one punch cleanly. He's too smart, too fast, and too good to LET someone hurt him and knock him out. If you had his gifts would you go toe to toe with someone for no good reason? Many a good fighter has lost bouts because of machismo combined with stupidity. What is more macho than never having lost? Floyd wins easy 12 rd. decision or stops Oscar on cuts in the late rounds. This will be an all time classic. Only 59 days away!!!!!

This is very similar to a question ask earlier regarding a Sugar Ray Leonard- Floyd Mayweather match-up and I would see it the same way whereas De la Hoya would win with pressure, size but most importantly his adaptability. The big difference is age and in their prime no doubt De la Hoya. De la Hoya is, like Leonard was; one of the best of all times at adapting and thinking inside of the ring. De la Hoya's adaptability, thinking and ring generalship will be key for him to win. He has these innate abilities not possessed by many boxers and which so far has not been shown by Mayweather. De la Hoya still has power and great skills and if he can make adaptations and changes inside the ring to deal with Mayweather's speed and defense he can win but right now I have it as a toss-up. In any event it is a fight I look forward to seeing.

Really like De La Hoya I think out of all the great fighters of the last 20 years he has fought more top contenders than anyone.
After thinking about it some more, I see Mayweather stopping him in 10.

i think of it is going to go the area. i think of De l. a. Hoya will knock PBF down two times interior the matchup which will supply De l. a. Hoya the element on an extremely close UD. This combat is going to in a manner remind alot of persons of the De l. a. Hoya vs. Cortey combat. De l. a. Hoya will come on reliable on the tip to scouse borrow the combat, cuz c'mon you're dealing with between the terrific finishers interior the sport today. Mayweather has no KO skill at this weight classification, the gloves are heavier and his palms are fragile. he will dance like he did aganist Baldomir and not be waiting to knock him out. De l. a. Hoya is going to be Mayweathers first and basically attempt aside from whilst he fought Castillo and of course lost yet I do foresee a trilogy.

I think that due to all the BS talking that Mayweather is doing, De La Hoya will come out not only prepared but ready to give this other guy a good boxing lesson.

De La Hoya by KO........

Oscar will win this fight! I can't believe that so many people are sold on Mayweather's BS! He's so overrated and we'll all find that out on May 5th! All he does is hit and run, and who has he fought that's so great? Judah? Gatti? Baldomir? Give me a break! Jose Luis Castillo really beat him in their first fight but got robbed! Oscar has fought Hall of Fame fighters and has never ducked anyone. Even moved up to middle weight and challenged Bernard Hopkins when he knew he would have a huge size disadvantage and he still fought on even terms with Hopkins until the body shot dropped him. Floyd was talking about moving up to fight Winky Wright at one point, but he quickly came to his senses and realized that Wright is a very good fighter and he nixed the idea. He didn't want no part of Wright. Oscar is going to expose this fraud for what he is on May 5th, and i can't hardly wait till "Pretty Girl" Mayweather gets knocked on his azz! All you Mayweather fans, don't make any excuses when Oscar kicks his azz!

Floyd, unanimous decision...will be circling away from the left hook when Oscar finishes combinations with it...and beating Oscar to the punch inside much like Mosely did in both their fights...Floyd is not some stand up heavy bag that cant box like Mayorga was...

Floyd has never fought anyone of Oscar's caliber. At this point, I am torn because we all know Oscar is a great boxer and Floyd looks mighty good in the ring but like I said, "He has never fought anyone of Oscar's caliber." If you put your money on Oscar, I wouldn't be mad at you.
