From God...Yes it is

I am not exactly sure in what way you mean a gift- but when I read your question this is what came to my mind. I am a musician myself, and there are some musicians that are gifted and some are not. If you are asking if music is a spiritual gift, it can be. I know some musicians in church that
sing or play a solo on a sunday morning and have good voices or play beautifully but there is something missing and that is the Spirit. Then there are others that play and or sing that may not be as gifted musically but Jesus comes through in their presentation. Music is a gift that we can present to God as an offering of praise. Is that what you are asking?

Music is an art that, in one guise or another, permeates every human society. It is used for such varied social purposes as ritual, worship, coordination of movement, communication, and entertainment. The definition of what constitutes music varies according to culture and social context. Music is definitely a gift from God!

Just like what Joseph Addison said: “Music, the greatest good that mortals know, And all of heaven we have below.”

Yes, music is a gift because even if you learn to play it or use the proper or latest equipments,it still does not matter because if you don't have the passion to play it, it means nothing.
