one good product to use is Gatsby Wax. rub a pinch of wax onto palm, rub onto hair in a messy way. twist selectively on some ends of hair.

It depends on how long it is. The right haircut helps. Most shorts styles can just be dried and use pomade, or styling paste (rub into hands and on fingers)and messing it up. I like to then twist pieces to define some chuncks. If it is long use water soluble glue and dry upside down or pulling up (my old punk friends did this for Mohawks)

When i spiked my cousins hair i used hair paste. And it held all day. I got mine at a salon but now he has a Mohawk and he uses gel to make it stay up. Hope that helps
