Bud aint a whole lot free, but, Yahoo Instant Messenger is and so are some of the other messenger tools, Yahoo also list its member directory which is also free, you can get some member info there and use the member names in your messenger to try to chat with some of them, most people don't like uninvited chats though, theres also quite a few people chatting in the game rooms but you cant narrow it down to your area or age or anything else. If you cant afford the small monthly fees of most dating sites you probably need to give up internet dating. Join for a month and hit every person you can in the first month, exchange email addresses or IM names and then discontinue your membership until those friends run out or dont work out.

Four minutes, and no-one has answered yet. I think they're all waiting for the 'right' answer so they can jump on the bandwagon.
But there isn't one. You'll have to start one in Yahoo! Groups, and see what happens. Most of those groups are full of guys waiting for the 'right woman' to drop into their laps, and she won't, danselley!

i dont know about local dating sites, how about the organization that you help out or one of your local hang outs. its much nicer on a one on one level.
