I have the ability to prove on demand most of the passages in the Bible using evidence from the most credentialed scholars and even from some who are decidedly anti-Christian or anti-Semitic.
Whenever someone makes statements like this, doesn't it occur to you to call their bluff?
It seems to me that non-Christians are actually frightened of the truth and of facts because of the protection they need of their own beliefs. For all the arrogant bluster, isn't there anyone here with enough actual education to challenge me?
I don't see this behavior among Christians. I've not noticed them often making up their own science or facts to support preconceived belief systems the way non-believers do.
Any takers? Please, by all means post a question if you think you've got something.

eastchic2001: Too easy.
Assyrian annals confirm by name and date about a dozen kings of Israel and Judah mentioned in the Bible, as well as historic events surrounding them.
The Moabite stone calls Israel the "Land of Omri", confirming the name of the king who built Samaria.
Hatshepsut left behind a monument in Egypt confirming Israel's existence in 1200 BC, as if it were already an established nation.
(Um, how objective do you want me to be? And do you want quotes?)

The Joy Factor:
There's a canyon between Mt. St. Helens and Spirit Lake in Washington that was created in 10 years and is now solid rock.
(This can be easily demonstrated by USGS maps before and after the 1981 eruption.)
Why do we need eons of time?

1. Humility isnt a problem for you is it Sparky?
2. Tell me what happened. In order. LEAVING NOTHING OUT on the day Christ rose from the dead. Using only the bible.
Lots of luck sweetheart! It's only the most important day in christianity. A few problems you may encounter: who went to the tomb, when they went, who was there (men or angels), how many (1 or 2), where they were, was the stone rolled away or not and...remember! Leaving nothing out. In order. Get busy, you superior wad!

What implications might this have for the duluge and what impact did or does it have on popular mythology in rearguard to Lilith ?
Since Ruth was a Moab and god said that the tribe of Moab could never have a place within Israel please explain how this is not contridiction
Please defend Lot who offered up his virgin daughter to be raped by an angry mob -
Please take a stand on the milenialist theroy that some have useing Revelations 1 and jesus message to the churchs Please defend this stance and explain how this may jive with other creationalist theorys in regaurd to the sinning of Adam - Why does the age of Adams sin become inportant to this theory ?
Please state your stance on the British israelisim theory in regaurd to prophecey and the relationship to Mannensah and Ephraim it has .
When your done answering the above I will give you another list equally long - I worship Freyja goddess of battle and sex - Not a Christian at all
4 year of intensive boble training bud offered ordination but turned it down to bale hay There are better gods to have - ones that don't require converting the unwilling masses Ones that actually preach a "do no harm" message and mean it Ones that will make you free instead of a guilt ridden parrot - I've been on both sides of the fence - I like it over here

Huh? I've only seen your last 4 questions. This one seems out of the blue.
But yes, I call your bluff. You can't "prove" anything. Proof only exists in formal mathematics. Now, you offer evidence, but your evidence is apparently just the arguments from "credentialed scholars". Are you using the logical fallacy of Appeal To Authority?
FYI, its bedtime for me, so I won't continue this dialog more tonight, but send me email and I will answer.

It's fundamentalist Christians like you that makes religion not even worth talking about because you're a so close minded.
Here is a question: Explain how Creationists say the grand canyon was made by one massive flood. Use Geological evidence supporting your answers.
I can prove how it wasn't made in one big flood, using geological evidence based on sediments, fossils, and comparing areas that were influenced by massive floods.
But you go first because i want to hear what you have to say.

So, when was man made, the sixth day, the eighth day, both, neither? Genesis reads that the Elohim made man and gave him the land on the sixth. Yahweh made the Garden on the eighth. Adam and Eve are the beginning of Abrahams line, the rest of us come from the Other People, the ones who took in Cain. Can you prove which day man was created?

Fine. First kings, chapter 7 verses 23, and 26. You're going to have to bend the laws of physics a little bit to prove that. Good luck.
Edit: Aww, you skipped me. I'm hurt. Actually, I'm not, I'm amused that you claim you can prove *any* bit of scripture, then pick and choose the ones you want to prove, instead of addressing them in order, which should be easy, since you can prove *any* one, right? Pure coincidence, I'm sure. You just missed mine, somehow. Eyes skipped right over it of their own accord.

Can you tell me one, just one, fact that I have made up? Ever. Go ahead, read all my answered questions. You'll find none. Why would I care enough to make up facts? I don't have this deep desire to prove you wrong.
CHALLENGE. Since you want someone to challenge you so much, go ahead tell me something in the Bible that has been proven. It MUST be objective.

Pathetic nonsense does not get me excited.
See, here is the real issue.
Religious folk make a claim. "God is in his heaven" (or whatever). It is not down to we atheists to prove you wrong, as we are not making the claim. It is up to you to prove that you are right and, despite the waffle, you can not, now or tomorrow.
IF it WERE the case, millions of non-believers would flock to the empty churches immediately, as it would be all over the news media ... and they aren't and it isn't. Propaganda!

Good on you for showing off your intelligence.
Now if you can survive reading the whole of the Supreme Bible of God without melting down or finding some excuse why you don't want to, can't, refuse, have a headache etc, then I'd respect your self confidence a whole lot more.

Of course, I have my doubts. But there is always faith.
