It is a quality possessed by more than just Christians....It is a quality possessed by many, religious and non-religious alike...
Blindness (metaphorically-speaking) is an affliction that plagues many....not just Christians...

I'm a Christian according to your new 7 deadly sins I will sin more than I normally do.
See I actually THINK about my spirituality everyday and explore other celestial possibilities.
I see the LOGICAL in the sequence of event set before me by divine intervention.
I use my COMMON SENSE when I make a decision, based on what I know, studied and experperience about God.
Before I converted I was an atheist and I RATIONALLY THOUGHTout that there is more to life then what science has placed before us.
I then kneeled down and prayed to ask God if he was really there and I got the FACTS I needed in order to confirm his existence.
My answer that I personally recieved and the scriptures is the PROOF that I needed to fortify all that I have learned about live and God.
From this I was able to have TOLERANCE for others who haven't quite gotten to the point where I am in my life.
So with this I understand, love, and accept for who they are rather than their beliefs.
I think I'll stick to the original seven deadly sins. just a thought ;]

Wow, I never thought about it.......but then I guess I'm lucky that I know Christians who are very rational, common sense, tolerant...sometimes even accepting...people (I'm Hindu and they haven't tried to convert me or anything.....in fact one Christian friend often jokes that her friends remind her of those jokes "a____, a ____, and a ____ walk into a bar" with the ___ being different religions like "A Christian, a Jew, and a Hindu walk into a bar and......."). But I have had the unfortunate experience from time to time of meeting the type of Christian you are describing here. Thankfully they really are in the minority....it just doesn't seem that way because they shout louder, are flashier, and do a lot to draw a lot of attention on themselves (which seems to upset many of the tolerant, logical minded Christians that I know.....they get upset that their "brothers and sisters in Christ act in such a hateful and unChristlike manner" to quote a friend of mine)

I believe in God and Jesus Christ, yet many Christians will tell me that I going to hell.
I am guilty of all of the 7 deadly sins that you have mentioned in your question, but.....my faith is not good enough for some of them.
I honestly don't understand the Christian concept.
Protestant, Catholic, Jehovah's Witness, Anglican, Baptist, etc etc.....what's the problem with unity?
They can't unite with each other under one God and one faith.
Divided they stand and united they fall??

All the faiths in the world are threatened by knowledge and freedom of mind, they are all cornered, and therefore respond with aggression. It is more obvious in Christianity, especially in Europe and North America, and is less pronounced among societies with less education and social freedoms, like Muslims for instance.

No. But they do allow man's vanity to do away with faith--the very thing that seems to defy at least five of these deadly sins...
