186 or 866 im in mass its for a cell or land line im not sure i tried to call this number back and an internet dial tone came up does this mean its a pay phone?

866 is something like a 1-800 number (toll free).

The company I work for has offices in New York and Florida and have these numbers. American Idol also uses 1-866 numbers for voting.

I was not able to call this # from my cell phone in Hawaii. I called the operator and was told that some 1-866 numbers cannot be called from some places.....

if it is 866 it might be an toll free#. in california we have some toll free numbers like 800 and 866 is one of them

go to http://www.whitepages.com/9900/ and click on reverse phone number, type in the phone number you have and it will tell you where it is located.. If this number is not restricted it will even tell you who owns it..
