When you get to Recruit Training you'll have to do the IST (5pts for every pull-up up to 100pt, 1pt for every sit-up up to 100 pts in 2 minutes, and a 1 1/2 mile run in 14:30 or better. But you have to do the minimum which is 3 pu's, 44 su's, and a 14:30 1 1/2 mile run.
Start hitting the weight room. Start running everyday whether it's 5, 10, 15 minutes per day. Build up your cardio. Start at 10 minutes per day for one week and 15 the next, and 20 two weeks later. Take it slow and then start pushing yourself.
Talk to a recruiter, if you're willing to push yourself; they'll be willing to help you. If they tell you something and it sounds fishy, don't believe them. The Marine Corps will training you in boot camp but you must pass the initial screening. I'm 5'8" and 135 lbs and I got through it easily, now I'm in the Infantry holding my own. I now do 14 pu's, 100+ su's and a low 20 min 3 mile run (1st class). I started with 6 pu's, 62 su's, and 28:00 3 mile run. Work hard at it and don't quit.

A recruiter will tell you everything you'll need to do to qualify. It is an admirable goal to be a US Marine. In general, I would just begin jogging to prepare. If you run 1/2 mile out and then 1/2 mile back, it should take you less than 15 minutes. Do this once per day or once every other day and after a month you'd be in better shape than most recruits probably.

I just got out of the military last year after an extended vacation at Walter Reid and my stock advice on joining the military is: "Don't".
However, as long as you have no major health issues they'll take you. You do need to pass a PT test (push-up, sit-ups, 2 miles run and in the marines chin-ups as well I think) If you fail in basic you get recycled and do it again and can get sent to FTD (fitness training something or other) where they'll get you strait.

The last I heard, you had to pass the initial strength test on the 21st day of bootcamp. That consists of: 3 pull-ups, 50 crunches (and crunches are easy) in 2 minutes, and a 1.5 mile run in 12 and a half minutes. To graduate you have to pass the Marine Corps PT test, and I have no idea what the standard is for that, but you have to run 3 miles. This all assumes you're male.

There is a minimal requirement you have to do before they will take you. If you do pass that and make it to boot camp and still cannot keep up, you will probably be put in the PCP (Physical Conditioning Platoon) until you're up to speed with other recruits. PCP is also known as Pork Chop Platoon.
