Does anyone have any ideas for my bf and I? We are trying to go to a nice restaurant (doesn't matter the price), and maybe a lounge, comedy club ... or nice bar to go to afterwards. Or any suggestions on what to do after dinner? I'm looking in the DC metro area. We are trying to do something different, rather than the regular clubs/bars atmosphere.....

Look into one of the dinner cruises, The Dandy, The Spirit of Washington, they both travel up and down the Potomac and are a lot of fun. For a really different restaurant in DC, try Marakesh on New York Ave (a block from where you get onto 395). It's a Moroccan place where you eat with your fingers and they have a belly dancer. It's a LONG meal (generally about 4 hours), but it's a lot of fun. If you go, take a trip up to the bathrooms and check out all the pictures of the celebrities that have eaten there over the years. Also, try Jaleo's on 7th Street NW. It's a great little Mexican tapas restaurant. Try the shark and treat yourself to a glass of sangria (yummy!). One other place is Olive's in DC (can't remember where). Pricey, but a great place.

Bon apetit!

anything (almost) in Old Town will br pretty fab. However, if the weather is nice, why not got to Sequoia down on the waterfront in Georgetown? Sit outside on the river...sounds lovely too me. Perhaps one of the smaller bars (NOT CLUBS) in Adams Morgan would be to your liking. Grab a "City Paper" next time it comes out for all sorts off good ideas or check out citysearch.com. It's hard to give to much info as I'm still unclear on the actual atmosphere u are reaching for but you are in one of the most versatile cities in the country and have so many different worlds at your fingertips - take advantage of that.

Try the "Chart House" next to the river in Alexandria, very nice and romantic, you can also do a riverboat ride after dinner right outside the restauraunt

Boy...you are willing to venture far aren't you.....NOT!

Try something further out.

Fredneck (frederick actually has some cool places- gofigure)

Leesburg also is quite cool as well as Middleburg, but you might need something stuck up your a$$ to dine in Middleburg.
