Ok so, you are dating a male/female, and it's going good. You are happy, they are happy and you feel the connection. There's one problem, you know that this person is not "bring home to family" material, for whatever reason. What do you do...I mean, do you sacrifice your happiness and drop them (out of respect to the family) or do you not care, bring them home anyway, and make it a point that you will not stop the relationship with them?

Please don't assume this is my situation...Thanks!

I would bring them home anyway. You are the one who has to live with your decision, and your family should respect that. Tell them that you won't stop the relationship as of yet. It might be a little bit disrespectful, but they should not ask you to sacrifice your happiness.

you bring them home. your family should respect it as being your decision as to who you date. sure, they will have their comments and opinions, and they will probably voice them very openly, but, all in all, they need to respect your happiness, and allow you to make it your own decision. if they don't like the person, tuff. it's not their life, they can't control how you feel, so why should they have any control over who you are with.
then on the other hand, you should kind of listen to any attempts at advice, it might be good, but do not let the family influence a decision about who you are going to be with.

Okay so hypothetically.... If you're family loves you then they would be willing to meet this anyone who you are in a relationship with and should at least give them a chance. If they don't like them, then I don't think it is worth it to jeopardize your relationship with your family because you never know if your significant other will be there tomorrow. Your family will always be there for you and they just want the best for you so give them a chance to give your partner a chance and see where it goes from there.

I would not drop him after all it is me who is going with him and not my family and my family should respect my wishes and let me be with whom i want to be with

In the end it is what makes you as a person happy and not what makes the family happy

One of my cousins date a guy which the family loved and adored but he cheated on her i know this because i was one of them (i didnt knew that they were going out) and he forced her to give bj etc.

If your happy, then your happy.

Dont let anyone or any group of people ruin your happiness.

When you fid someone you love you need to stick by them, no matter what happens. Have loyalty toward them. You wouldn't want them to runaway if you weren't totally perfect for some reason.

It would be eaiser to answer you correctly if you told us what their issue was.
