I think that some guys see a girl in a relationship and somehow think that they need help or that they can make her happier with the person that she is now. Its not that they want the unattainable but they think the girl needs some kind of help and that they can do that. Even if the girl leaves her guy for the new one things won't work out because once she does have whatever was missing from her previous relationship she won't need him anymore.

Pretty girls can be snatched up quickly and dont stay available for long, if a guy finds an attractive woman than he assumes another guy must have already claimed her first. So really, from a guys perspective, all the sexy woman are taken, so you might as well try to squeeze up to her. Either that or they want what they cant have or try to prove they're better than another guy by stealing his girl.

Some guys do it so there is no chance of commitment. They don't have to worry about settling down with a married woman.
On the other hand I think women who are taken appear to be happier. They smile more and give off a more positive vibe. They also seem more confident. This is attractive to most people.

Because they are players. Either they think she girl is safe because she is already in a relationship, or they get some kind of pleasure in breaking up relationships - only to ditch the girl soon after. Pathetic but karma will get you every time!

Men want what men can't have, plus they are more likely to get a quick piece without the strings with an attached woman. Basically, men are pigs.

Because they don't want the label as being their man, and know they will be busy with their man most times, leaving them with time to be with others as well. Fun without the commitment or at least the chance of it.
