milk 4.5p per pint
loaf of bread 4p
petrol 10p gallon

in £sd (pre decimalisation in 1971 - 2.5p = 6d, 5p=1 shilling and 10p=2 shillings)

Well, my dad was 7 at the time.. my grandma was 41, so i'd say like 5 cents.

I know my grandma used to go to the movies for like 20 cents to get in and 5 cents for a soda. My dad could get a hamburger for 10 cents and a soda for a nickel.

I can't believe that nowadays it's impossible to get a decent lunch for less than 6 dollars.
