i cant find my w2s to mail in with my forms for my return.. is it ok to send a photocopy of the w2's instead of the original? Thank you in advance and please no suggestions to do taxes online or with a tax preparer

If you have the original it would be best. Otherwise send them the best copy that you have. I do it all of the time for people that have lost their original.

Making copies is okay, but send the original to the IRS and keep the copy for your records.

Only if that's all you have. Usually you would keep the photocopies for your own records.

No I don't think so. I believe you must turn in the original copies provided or get the orignals replaced.

Might I suggest that you think about E-Filing. If you do that, you do not need to submit your W-2s.
