Im 19, and about 183 pounds, height 6'2. I work out almost everyday, but i am still not seeing the good physical results. I am strong and can do heavy weights, but i wish i looked more defined. I do sets of 10 -12 and am taking glutamine and whey protein. I dont do that much aerobic exercise (but i have in the past a lot) Does anyone know what i can do to look better quicker?

The reason you are not getting defined is because the sets you are doing concentrate more on bulking up. To tone you need to use lighter (not too light, whatever you are comfortable with) weights and sets of 25 to 30. And you may want to lay off ofthe glutamine and protein and while toning just eat very lean meats, tuna and chicken etc. But you need to focus more on toning exercises than bulking exercises. Balance between toning and bulking and you will be fine.

To gain/loose weight, eat only when hungry and that too not more than three times a day. Uncooked fruits/vegetables shud be taken with each meal to the extent of 50%. No food/drink other than water in between. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This activates ur body system to give u effective signals when u have had enough.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

Do not get panicky to loose/gain fast. After all u have taken years to come to the present state. Be patient.

At that age and build it seems impossible not the slightest bit of exercise won't have a noticeable effect.

Try to make sure you are getting the best out of your workouts. Know the exercises and the muscle groups they target. Concentrate on each rep during the exercise to make sure you are feeling each motion. 10-12 reps is good for definition.

Concentration is key to getting the most out of working out. Nutrition i think u have enough of already. Supplements aren't usually needed unless you have super high goals. A balanced diet is good enough.

Work out harder!! I have learned in the past couple of months that even though you THINK you're working out pretty hard, you're only getting half way through. By the time you finish, you need to be trembling, reluctant to even walk, and need a meal to regain some energy. That's the kind of workout that makes you show results fast!!
